Hey girls,

I need gift ideas for a friend's 40th birthday next week. Under $50 would be great, but I am open for anything. She is a SAHM to 3 kids and is pretty conservative. Any ideas????

Thanks,
C.

C.,
For my good friend who is 40+, I bought her a James Avery charm bracelet (silver) with 4 charms that I knew would mean something to her. I am 35 yrs old and I love my two James Avery charm bracelets (even though I don't wear them all that often). Every time I see my friend, she wears the bracelet.

What about a mani & pedi gift certificate? I got one a few years ago for my birthday, and I really enjoyed it. My friend had called my husband the week before to make sure what day that week would work best for me. She made an appointment at the nail place for me & said she was going to keep my daughter all day. A day all to myself, with a mani & pedi - seriously a great gift. You also could get her a massage gift certificate or anything that she would not normally do for herself.

All the other ladies ideas are great. May I also suggest something Brighton? Brighton has some really cool unique stuff at their store. It's pretty, personal, and something most people don't get for themselves. (They have some really pretty "brag books" which are probably in your price range that would be a great way for her to show off pics of her kids!!)

I would suggest a massage. You can get one for a good price if done by an intern or student at Hands on Therapy in Mesquite or another massage school in your area. I've been treating myself to one ever since a friend gave me a free one just after my mom passed away in 1999. My husband gave my a 300.00 gift certificate to there last Christmas. Best present I've gotten! Hello!

Well if she is a SAHM then she probably has no time for herself. I would definitely get her either a gift certificate for a back massage OR a haircut. OR you can get her a spa pedicure, they are SO relaxing. Anyway thats what "I" would want and I am a 33 year old SAHM. :)
