Try a couples massage or a dinner/lunch boat cruise. One out of Marina jacks/ Le Barge or in Tampa is Starship cruises. They are all awesome! And not terribly expensive.
Hi. Father's Day is coming up and I would like to make this an extra special day for my husband. Usually, I take him out to lunch which is nice, but does anyone know of anything going on that day or the Saturday before that might be different? He works way too much, is taking care of the kids this summer (I work during the day) and he works at night; he tries hard but sometimes gets grumpy when he's not feeling appreciated, etc. I would like to let him know how much he's appreciated. He likes golf but has a bad back/knees; he likes movies, but mostly he likes to rest. I gave him a certificate for a massage once, but he never used it...went to waste. Yes, I could give him a massage, but that could be done anyday. Sorry, I'm rambling but I'm trying to find out if there's anything extraordinary out there...oh and that doesn't cost me a 2nd mortgage! :) thank you all!
Thanks for the responses. People were very gracious in offering deals, etc...but... I asked my husband what he wanted and he said sleep. So we let him sleep. I picked up a pepperoni pizza from his favorite place, got one of those giant chocolate chip cookie cakes and basically let him have the living room to himself for the day/night. The kids were great. They made cards, of course. I also got him a big collage frame to put family pics in...we had seen one about a month or so ago and he commented how he liked it. The only thing, I didn't put pics in it so had I to do it over again, I would have already had the pics in it (been very busy). It turned out to be a pretty nice day. Thanks again!

Hi there - I make blankets that are perfect gifts - something so nice to have when lying on the sofa watching tv or a movie! I am adding to the inventory almost daily - and am making more masculine print blankets as well for Father's day. Take a peek at www.Bunkies.Etsy.com (my website is www.Bunkies.us - but I am not selling directly on it just yet, thus the Etsy site!) If you'd like something particular, contact me through the site and we'll get something together for you! Thanks and have a great Father's Day no matter what you do or give him, after all - those precious children are what made him a Father to begin with! :) - E.
Well, I know how you feel about buying something just to go to waste. My husband wanted a camper so we found a cheap cute little camper. We used it about four times. Then he tail and brake lights messed up on it. I was going to get them fixed. Then the roof started leaking in the bathroom. Had to fix then. Then the final thing was he was trimming a tree and dropped a big limb through the roof. So we ended up selling it for a lot less than we paid. The next thing was a boat. I got him the boat and oars that he wanted because he said rowing a boat would keep him in shape. He used it once. Decided it was to small and sold it for 1/4 of what I paid for it. So now I just take him out to steak dinner for his Birthday/Fathers Day and buy him something he needs. If you have a game system you could purchase a golf game for it. Or you could get a golf game and control for him to play golf on the computer. If you could afford it a day at the beach with just you and him might be nice. Or a night in a motel with room service. Or just ask him what he would really enjoy. The saying is surprise gifts are always best really isn't true, a lot of people prefer to pick out their gift. As for me I like surprises. My husband prefers to pick out what he wants. Maybe a nice letter telling him all the things you appreciate about him would be nice. I used to slip little notes in my husbands lunch when he was in the bathroom. But now that I don't work I am not up in time to do that. But if he is going out of town overnight I always slip a note in his bag. Sometimes I even slip a pair of my panties in the bag with a little note. Be creative. Do what's in your heart. Guess I needed to vent a little.
I know my girlfriend once bought her husband a massage chair, you know that kind that vibrates etc...Probably 100 something, not real sure on the price. Just an idea. Black leather is nice. Unless he already has one..Since he likes golf, buy him a Wii...They aren't cheap either, ha ha...It's tough, I don't know what to do for mine either. I dont' work right now so have to spend his money, sure doesn't feel as special, but what can ya do..good luck..
The Fl Aquarium and Lowry Park zoo usually have Fathers get in free day on the saturday before and on Fathers Day. Thats always fun for the whole family....Good Luck!
Do you guys have any camping gear? My daughter and I stole my husband away for his birthday. I had made reservations at Disney's Ft. Wilderness resort, cooked his favorite meal earlier in the week, froze it, loaded it + more in the cooler, and headed out. His birthday is in May so it was before peak season ($), but I don't think that they have gone up that much yet. I brought all of our food and we didn't eat at the resort restaurants so that saved $. There is a Chip & Dale campfire and marshmallow roast, fireworks over the lake, playground, pool and free crafts for the kids. We had alot of fun and didn't spend too too much.
Afterwards - he thanked me and said that he didn't realize how much he needed that couple of days off/away.
Usually for Father's day - I give him a "mini album" of pictures from the past year - of just our daughter or the two of them together. I made the first one in a little class at our local scrap booking store, and the others I've copied from designs that I found online or just made up myself. He loves them, they are on his desk at work, and he shows them to anyone who will look!
Good luck! I hope these suggestions help.
If your husband is like mine, he doesn't want massages, he just wants to do something fun with the family. Plan a picnic, even if it is at home. Leave some time for him to do whatever leisure activitiy he likes. I'm going to let mine watch some TV in quite and take nap! Cook him his favorite meal and that is probably all he needs! My hubby never buys clothes and just likes the essentials. I went to old navy and bought a bunch of the essential T's they have this week for $4.25 each! Got him enough where he can go through his shirt drawer and throw everything out! Now he won't have to worry again for another 2 years! Nothing fun or fancy, but that isn't what he wants.
Dad's get into the Lowry Park Zoo free this weekend
