I also like Krista's idea. Also, don't underestimate the value of a handwritten note that says all that she means to you. Or maybe put that same sentiment into story form (or a poem).
My "aunt" is incredible to my 2 sons. She spends great time, buys fun toys, and helps us with all the basics. She is more of a grandparent than my in-laws...who are the worst. I'd like to get her something nice for Christmas. She has a zillion pictures and homemade things from us. She also doesn't wear jewelery or enjoy spa treatments or maid service. I thought of a show but she has seen most of what is available in our area (or wouldn't like the others). I am stumped for a gift. Any ideas?

We are actually in the same spot with my husband's aunt and uncle. They are wonderful and have always taken excellent care of my husband, myself and our son- more so than my in-laws. They are quite wealthy and there is literally nothing that we could buy them that they don't already have.
This year we hired a sitter and are taking them out for a very nice dinner. They love to try new restaurants and new foods. We love spending time with them so it's win-win. You could do a gift certificate or take her out for a special meal. It sounds like she just likes being with your family and she may enjoy going out for lunch or dinner and spending time together.
If she's very "practical" like me, then you can't go wrong with towels or blankets.
I would probably do something personalized, like a calendar of your kids (or a mug, frame, etc.) AND a gift card. In the town where I live, you can buy a gift card that is good for any merchant in town. Malls do the same. If you know what store she likes, you can get one for there, or just an amex gift card. And if you think that's not quite enough, maybe take her out to breakfast with you and the kids, and present the gifts then! Good luck choosing--you're blessed to have such a special person in your childrens' lives!
Hi C.,
What about a nice dinner out, or a restaurant gift card? Movie gift card? Concert ticket?
Good luck choosing a wonderful gift
Why not give her a gift card, and let her get what she wants?
how about a good book? or a hobby?
Is there a special Christmas show that she would enjoy to go with you and your kids? You could always take her out to a special brunch. It seems that she likes to spend time with you all, so incorporate that into the gift.
I really like Krista's idea. I think there is nothing better than giving the gift of your time.

What about cooking/art/scrapbooking classes....something she would enjoy?
I know you said she's got lots of homemade stuff, but you could upload your pictures and make a calendar for her of your family with her.(that's always a hit) or a digital photoframe...again preload it with pictures.
or depending on where you live...Landscaper...even if she loves to garden it's awesome to have someone else to the mowing and raking!
