I have oily skin and have been using the Maybelline Natural Powder foundation for the past 9 months or so. I have noticed that has the weather has gotten warmer that by midday the makeup is literally rubbing off on anything that I touch (hands, phone, etc.). Also my face is very shiny from the oil. I have tried to blot off excess oil and put setting powder on afterwards. Nothing is working and my face is really breaking out. I need any suggestions that you guys can give. I can't afford $30 a bottle makeup but need something reasonable and easy to obtain. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

What can I do next?

I have to be careful about this, too. I use Revlon's One Step Liquid to Powder compact face makeup. Then, after I put on my blush, eye shadow, etc. and I'm all done before mascara, I use a giant powder brush and coat my face with Coty Translucent Loose Powder. I then use waterproof mascara. I get many compliments every summer about how my makeup doesn't "move". I volunteer for an organization where we do very emotional work with people who need help. If I cry, my makeup stays put. I learned this trick from one of the movie stars back in the 80's who had her own very expensive make up line. I just decided to do it with stuff I could afford. It really works!

Try the bare minerals-it's great! I have oily skin & this make up is wonderful for me. Ulta has a $15 trial kit right now. The regular starter kit is about $60 which includes the brushes. The foundation powder is $25 which I buy about every other month. The top powder (mineral veil) is $19 & I buy that when I'm feeling rich. otherwise, I do without till I want to splurge.

I'm an oil slick girl all summer - used to coach soccer and long to move up north with the birds! I use a mattifying powder under and over my liquid foundation. It is made by Arbonne International. It is a botanically based translucent pressed compact. It is the ONLY thing that isn't cakey to where by the end of the day you look like you've layered on the makeup 5 times. Retails for $25, but you can get it for $20 with a wholesale membership. (no obligation to sell, no hassles or minimums) HGTV makeup artists use this powder to keep those hunky carpenters from glowing too much!

The other products that have helped me are the Oily/Combination Cleanser (with toner in it) and the SPF 20 Day Cream with Matte Fresh Complex in it. This set of two has lasted me since the beginning of February, and I'm just now 2/3 of the way through it. Arbonne's products always last longer than most others because they are concentrated - no fillers or junk. Keep that in mind in cost comparison.

Something else- OTC foundation may be the issue since it is 90% mineral oil (baby oil), or the lovely alternative of animal derivatives so they can say it is "oil free." Even in 'mineral' formulations they can be hidden. Not sure what I mean, look up "horse rendering" on a google search - yucky. Some people do better in the summer with the mineral foundations - I personally like the more consistent coverage of a liquid, but Arbonne has both and the mattifying powder works with both.

I don't know about the make-up because I have never found something that works 100% either, but Mary Kay has some oil absorbing blotters that I LOVE. I have them everywhere. They are $5 for 75 of them. Good luck!
