I'd call around for office policies. My friends who don't immunize all see family practitioners, not pediatricians and none of them follow the visit schedule that is recommended (1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, etc...). They just trust that they know their child well enough to seek help if there is a problem. Another option is to find an orthopedic doc who is more on the alternative meds side and tends to stay away from unneeded shots and medications.
On another note, you may get message from moms saying you are bad for not getting immunizations. I assume you have done a lot of research before making your decision. Ignore the negative responses and go with your gut. And, you can send your child to school, it's a misconception that schools won't let your un-immunized attend. It's actually illegal to force a parent to medicate their children. Private schools can but not public. Preschools and daycares could be more of a challenge because they are usually private, but you can find those that agree with your choices.
Also, saying that "most doctors won't want to treat your son" is just ignorant. Doctors don't turn away an unimmunized child - how do you think children from other countries get treated? We are one of the only countries that demands that we drug our children at such a young age!
Good Luck!
For the record, we do immunize, but I think it's the parents' choice.
