If there is a Colorific by you I'd give that a try and if the Bolingbrook location isn't too far, I've used Brenda at that location.
Hi, I am sick of paying $50.00 for a haircut. I need to find a place that's a little cheaper but still does a great job.

Hi S..
I am a mom of 2 GREAT boys. I know exactly where you are coming from about paying too much for hair care. I have hair that is past the middle of my back, and it grows like weeds. I need my highlights done every 3 months and sometimes sooner. I would be broke if I continued to go to salons.
I'm not sure where you live, but for me its well worth the 25 minute drive to get to Worth where I get my hair highlighted AND cut for $45!!! Her name is Monika and she is GREAT!! Not only is her service cheap, she does an exceptional job and takes her time to get the roots. Her hair products are all the same if not better than other salons.
I have been going to her for a little over a year. If you're interested her phone number is ###-###-####.
P.S. The ironic thing is that she does a better job and for ALOT cheaper than ANY other salon I've been to in the last 10 years. I am blessed to have found her!!

I have no idea where you live, but I live in Joliet and I go to Luxury Hair & Nail Salon. The stylist I use for hair and highlights is VAL, and I use DEBBIE for my nails.
There prices are very reasonable and I have been going there for 5 yrs now.
Luxury Hair & Nail is located on Route 30 (Plainfield Rd.) in Joliet. There number is ###-###-####.
Good Luck!

Hello S.,
I live south of Frankfort, and I go all the way to Palos Hills... 105th and Roberts Road! The Salon is called "Heads Up", not stuffylike some others, but always hoppin'. The Owner Scott is Awesome, even though he's the owner, he's a regular, down to earth easy going guy... Usually I wait until I NEED it done,ya know, unitl I can't take it anymore! I usually get in, or he squeezes me in usually with in the end of that week, or beginning of next week of calling. I have to tell you, I am a weirdo (in the sense-VERY picky) with color: exactly the hue, where, and how much color I have in my hair! The cut is just important too! I can tell you I always trust him with my locks every time. He will give you his, (and a few of his better (in style) hairdressers if wanted) HONEST opinion; you can take it or leave it. He will not get offended. His prices are , in my opinion, very good. Also, I am 37, and was a little bit worried the first time I went because I wasn't sure about the new hair style I wanted, and if it was "too young" for me. (I never thought I'd say that!) He gave me his HONEST opinion and left very happy each time. Each time I go for an all over color, and cut, which includes:
Shampoo, foil 4 color process-- 2 highlight blonde, 2 lowlight2, caramel& chocolate & touch up, conditioner, and a really great hair cut & a 10.00 tip, never totaling more than $100.00
(Unless of course I want to buy the shampoo, conditioner, spray wax, thermal spray, etc!)
He has 2 girls who are fantastic too, Carrie and Katann. They also offer full nails, waxing and extensions; never had those services done though. I hope I helped! Give them a try! Please update me if you decide to go! I'd love to know how fantastic your appointment went! Good luck to you, I was once in your shoes, I can relate!

I go to Split Endz in New Lenox and I see Lori there. She does awesome and doesn't charge nearly that much!

I go to VIP salon in joliet and pay 110 for cut and highlights. I love it there!
I found myself in the same predicament. I started going to Colorific on 59 in SHorewood. The stylist that I really like there is Tasha. A wash/cut is $20. They also have a price list for color/highlights, etc. The only thing that they don't do that they charge extra for is a blow dry style and that's $10.
Good luck!!
I am now going to Planet Color in Mokena (191st and Wolf). A hair cut is $35 (before tip) and color has been around $60 for me (I do have shorter hair). I see Jess now, but have gone to Joe, the owner, too. (He really is the best, but kind of takes a long time). Their website is www.planetcolorsalon.com. It is kind of a trendy little place, usually hoppin', and fair in price compared to a place like Mario...I have gotten many compliments on my hair since going to Planet Color. Good luck!
I am not sure of your locale but I have been pretty happy with Great Clips and supercuts. Both are VERY reasonable!. Have you ever tried coloring your own hair? Personally I started ding my own hair with L'Oreal the red box that has highlights in it. I love it and boy it saves me a ton f money! The box is about $17-20. When I went to Paris many years ago (prekids) I had my hair done and EVERY salon there used L'Oreal! So I talked with the stylist who said that the box is commercial where their product is professional but they are about the same and if you were to do it yourself use that... So I do and I LOVE IT! Saves me about $100+..
Of course if you can afford to spend the time/money at the salon alone with a magazine... GO FOR IT!!
P.S. I do use The Body Shop Shampoo and conditioner which I also LOVE. My hair holds the color and is silky smooth despite the color treatments and chlroine frombeing at the pool every day!!
Check it out!!

I love the Hair Spot in Frankfort. ###-###-####

They do a great job and a hair cut costs about $11.00. Or try Trend Setters ###-###-####
19031 Old Lagrange Rd, #209 Mokena, IL They are beauty college all work done by students.
I've been going to Trend Setters in Mokena. It's a Paul Mitchell school, but I've had good luck and it's very cheap.
There are many places in the suburbs where you can get a haircut for under $40. Where do you live?
