Good Morning everyone, I need help. My husband is a police officer and has been working part times like crazy to get us extra money for our trip to California in June and to pay for our girls extra curricular activities which are not cheap. and I feel bad because with my job I'm not offered overtime(I work for a non profit and I don't even get raises). He has really been working long hard hours and I just wanted to do something for him to show him that he is so appreciated. I really don't have any ideas of what to do for him. I would appreciate any ideas you ladies might have.

give him guy time! just because he's off of work doesn't mean he wants to do yardwork/housework/drive kids around/do errands. let him choose. it may be as simple as a meal out and then some coffee shop time. it may be a few beers with the guys. it may be even just a long nap on a Sunday afternoon. but whatever it is, don't interupt it unless it's life and death! Well, we all know the first answer to that question is some "bedroom time":) But, aside from that, I agree with a reprieve from his other home responsibilities. One of my hubbys favorite gifts was when I hired a lawn service. It seems strage to spend more money, but for my husband it was perfect. Just knowing he did not even have to think about it was great!! A fun date would be nice to, something that you would not ordinarily do. Maybe tickets to a baseball game, a night at Dave and Busters...head to a shooting range together, something just for him! Have fun whatever you do, just keep laying on the praise, he will appreciate that the most! (OK, maybe not the MOST, as we all know the aforementioed bedroom time is what they appreciate the most haha!!)

I agree with Regina... Make it romantic too, maybe have a candle light dinner ready, get all beautiful for him; then rock his world... and let him sleep in-- if he doesn't have to work, and make a big breakfast...

Well, to put it in simple man terms, give him yourself as a gift. ;) Tending to his needs is always a great way to thank a hubby.

On his next day/evening off ask a family member to watch the kids, or hire a sitter for a few hours. Depending on what your husband likes, either find an outing that the 2 of you can do, or even just stay at home and watch movies all day. My husband isn't into little gifts so I usually try to find something we can do together that I know he'll love (even if it's not my first choice) that we don't do often. It doesn't have to be anything big and expensive, just something that lets him know you appreciate everything he does.

WHat about some sexy pictures of you so he has something to look at while he is working those crazy hours...lol Check out our facebook. Search "Harmony Photography" and go to the boudoir album. They are fun, sexy, suggestive pictures...not nude. And you could give them to him at a candlelit dinner...just make sure after you give them to him you have some "time" to spend with him.

Good Luck,
J. Touchette
