I have it too. I had once asked my ob about it and he said that it is normal from the hormones around that time of month.
Hi Moms,
I have been getting horrible nausea about a week before my period, It started about 4 months ago. does anyone else have this? Is it normal?
I saw my OB for a check up about 6 months ago, I'm not on any birth control, I was on the pill once and I became extremely depressed to the point of almost suicide when I was 18 and I have been afraid of taking any sort of medication ever since.
Besides my nausea I also get extremely exhausted, painful cramps, and I get really anxious.
TIA

From my and my daughter's experience, it sounds like a hormone imbalance. They finally found that I was sensitive to the rise and fall of progesterone that naturally occurs during that time. Before that, my hormones caused a bit of nausea and even mild fever for a few evenings. Nightmares or lack of sleep while obsessing over little tiny things during a sleepless night. It went into monthly migraines (finally relieved by Amerge!). I got on hormone replacement therapy (more natural creams) and did bloodwork to show when things were balanced.
My daughter suffers during that time from high anxiety and feelings of being overwhelmed too. Xanex helped. She too got into monthly migraines. She then switched to a very low dose birth control, newish brand, that did the trick. (forgot the name)
Use a great gynecologist who can test your hormones and monitor any trial use of birth control. Your former birth control pill may have been too strong or you may need one that treats the week "off" differently.
It sounds like your hormones are out of balance. Nothing major.
I have a product that helps with that - it's a natural hormone balancing cream. If you'd like more information, please let me know.
Take care and God bless!

Sounds like you are having a progesterone surge which is perfectly normal around the time of your cycle. I get pregnancy symptoms every month before my cycle starts. Fun, fun, fun! :-P
Still, you should talk to your OB about it just to determine if your hormone levels are in check.
sometimes i get nausea before my period and almost very preganancy symptom and horrible cramps sometime i got that thank god not every month .
ask you OB about get your hormones check .
I was having similar symptoms and my doctor discovered I had endometriosis. I had laser surgery and it is much better. It is just something you might inquire about.
I agree with everybody else about the hormone imbalance. I used to have that problem. I do have a question though. When you were on birth control, did you only try one kind? When I first tried birth control, it caused depression and a host of other symptoms. It was Ortho Cyclen. This time around, though, I am on a lower dose (and different hormone), and I've had no problems. It could just be that the birth control you tried last time wasn't the right one for you. I would speak with your OB/GYN and express your concerns about the pill, and they'll be able to figure out the best course of action. The birth control was the only thing that solved my period problems. I used to get horribly sick every month too, and the pill was a life saver, so I'd hate for it not to be an option for you. Good luck!
