Being that she's so young, I would take her to the doctor. I definitely don't want to alarm you, but when my son had RSV, he spit up everything he drank, and it was mucousy.
my 6 wk old has a cold and has started to spit up what seems to be the whole bottle mixed with mucussy looking stuff. should i take her to the doctor or is this just the cold working its way out?

if she has a fever (our ped says rectal temp of 100.4 or greater) or is having trouble breathing (flared nostrils, rapid breaths, retraction at the base of the neck or ribs, etc), you should take her right away...it is RSV season which is much more severe in a newborn than other populations.
I would take her to the DR, since she is so young.
yes take her to doctor.
anything that happens with a six week old i feel should be called into your dr. just to be safe...
The cold is probably the cause for the vomiting because milk sours on their stomach when they are ill. But you should still take her to the doctor to be sure she does not have a virus. She's so young to be sick like that.

please take the baby, with RSV season coming up it is a good idea that you get her checked out. How is her feeding? Does she tend to cough a lot during or after meals- if so pease mention that. If you would like to know more please e mail me ____@____.com name is T.
Dear A.,
This is the season for colds, but also the season for a virus known as RSV, which can be much more serious and can only be diagnosed at the doctor's office. If your baby is congested, you may want to try to switch to pedialyte for 24-48 hours for her feedings. Sometimes the formula increases the thickness of mucus and makes it harder for the baby to breathe well. You can also try using a few drops of saline nasal spray and the a bulb suction to try to clear as much mucus as possible from her nose prior to feedings. I'm a pediatric nurse and mom and these are just some of the things we tell parents and they've worked for me. Hope she feels better and everyone can enjoy the holidays.
Hi A.,
I`m sure it`s just the cold breaking up, you could wait a couple of days if you like, but if it lasts longer I`d take her to the doctor. Also if shes doing this more at feeding time try feeding her 2 ounces at a time every few minutes, the mucus shes swallowing may be making her spit up all her milk and then shes empty and losing all her fluids as well and you don`t want her to dehydrate.
