I'm by no means an expert, but I would be on my way to a doctor really soon. I've only seen in person one man with Tourette's Syndrome but it was so hard to watch. They have movements and sounds they cannot control and it's non ending. I asked this man if he ever got time off. He said yes, sometimes for a few hours and it was blissful not to be making the movements and sounds. I'm hoping you aren't dealing with something like this, but I wouldn't take the chance.
Think about getting an evaluation from a child neurologist or psychiatrist for possible Tourette's Disorder. Tourette's is a tic disorder that has both vocal and motor tics - i.e. making noises and involuntary muscle movements. These things are not under a child's conscious control. It is treatable.
Could just be a tic but not necessarily Tourette's. A doctor could tell you for certain. My son has had tics, made odd noises. He also went through a period of time with squinting his eyes. The doctor told us he would outgrow them and he did.
I agree with the others, you need to take your child to a doctor right away. Also, I'm sure it won't stop the problem but I think all of us should watch what we eat, meaning pesticides, colors, garbage in our foods. I have always wondered if it contributes to so many probems & it helps our kids to learn better & function better without these chemicals in our bodies. It does sound like a neurological problem tho. I really wish you luck, there is help out there. Stay strong.
