I need to replace my carpet!!! Like most of you out there with little ones, you know that if you have a light colored carpet, it isn't going to last. Plus the carpet that the builders put in is CHEAP!!! It looks so bad now that I don't like having anyone come over anymore. I had someone come over the other day from Empire Today because I originally wanted to put down laminant. For my kitchen area alone, they told me it would be around $4,000!!! Are you kidding me?? There is no way that I can pay that. Especially since we are not going to be staying in this house for more than 3-5 years from now (sooner if possible). I decided that I was going to leave my kitchen alone (we have ceramic tiles now) and I will juat have it cleaned and sealed. The carpet through the rest of my home has to go. I decided to go with Frieze carpet throughout the common areas of my home. The told me that it would be around $2,900 for all of my common areas (den, hallways, family room, dining room) Any opinions on this and can anyone out there tell me if there is anywhere or anyone that can put laminant down for me for a more reasonable price??? Thanks for your help!!!

There is an AWSOME place in Allen called DC floors, infact we just put new carpet in our bedroom yesterday because of watter damage and doggie damage, our room was 13 x 20 and it cost less than $500 bucks, that included tax and installation, the carpet is good quality too, its dupant stain master. its off of Bethany, I cannot remember the cross street, check them out, they are great prices on all kinds of flooring.

Try DC Floors in Allen. I can't count the number of friends I know who have used them. We just had our entire house carpeted prior to putting it on the market. Steve was our sales guy and we got the upgraded (a step above builder grade) for 1.59 a sq ft. Cheapest deal in town and they move BIG funiture, vacum, etc... for free.

We purchased our laminate from Lumber Liquidators on 35 near Farmers Branch...did our living, dining, entry way and hallway (probably about 1000-ish sq. ft.) for $900 for all the flooring and supplies. My husband and his brothers installed it all. A friend of mine went and purchased some laminate on Friday - he got an even better deal, $1000 for 2000 sq. ft. I know that they install as well...you may want to check them out!
