Might want to have an x-ray done and see if there is something in her hip structure that's causing restricted blood flow to her lower extremities.
I worked w/ a client earlier this summer who had PURPLE - and I MEAN PURPLE feet! I've seen people have discolored toes, etc. but her entire feet and ankles were PURPLE. I worked w/ her for 10-15 and her feet were pink again.
All I did was to give her 2-3 exercises to reposition and open the hips to allow blood to circulate. She'd been to all kinds of foot docs, etc. No one could give her any "explanation" and told her her feet were fine. OBVIOUSLY, they weren't fine, but it was rather a hip issue and lack of circulation that caused the purple coloring in her feet.
Don't know if this will help ease your mind but go here:

I am not sure about the purple feet, sorry. But have you considered switching doctors? It sounds like you should.
I agree with what you have said. Get her to a doctor and get her a new doctor. That's what doctor's jobs are...to listen and not brush you off. And that's why there's nurse lines, to determine if a patient needs to be seen. If it were me, I'd write a detailed letter to her former doctor explaning how the doctor and staff failed to treat your daughter properly and why you are no longer in need of their services; and that you will gladly tell your friends of the inadaquate and unprofessional service you received from them.

Please take her to the doc. I wont go into too much detail but my son (who passed away) had purple feet. We found out later he had a heart defect. PLEASE PLEASE take her to the doctor ASAP. Do not take "no" for an answer and if you want clearer results get a second opinion.

It really sounds like poor circulation. Sometimes this is treatable by massaging and making sure socks and shoes aren't too tight. Sometimes it requires surgery. I agree that it might be time for a new doctor. If you feel like you're being blown off and that your child isn't getting the care needed, time to switch doctors. The example you gave with the bronchitis and your daughter being hospitalized would have been my breaking point for switching to a new doctor.
Good morning :)
My daughter would get bluish/purple hands & feet when she was dehydrated. Just a suggestion.
Good luck!
If your doctor's office is blowing you off on serious issues (or even minor ones), it's time to find a new doc!! Thank goodness you followed your instinct with the bronchitis! It sounds to me like there's a circulation issue with the purple feet. I'd get her to a new doc-pronto!!
if you have a concern take her the pediatrician. it could be a lot of things and nothing. i don't no a pediatrician in the world who would be upset about you bringing her in. also does he know his office staff response when she was coughing then admitted. i would certainly let him know. that is a serious problem and could be considered malpractice. no infant with a cough should ever be blown off. also no nurse can diagnosis unless she/he is a nurse practitioner and the state you live in may not allow this anyway. also you can never diagnose over the phone. at any rate i would take her in. it is good sign that her feet are warm, but still have her looked at.

If your concerns are not being met by your doctor, I would advise you to seek out another, more attentive one.
Mothers' instincts are not to be ignored.
My son's feet are bluish purple when he wakes up from naps. The doctor told me it's poor circulation and that he will grow out of it. He told me this as 4 months and he's now 7 months.
I don't know about the purple feet thing, but I would get a new doctor. Can't believe they shrugged off a 4 month old's coughing... ours would've seen our kids that very same day. Good for you for trusting your instincts.
Good luck,
L. :)
hi, i don't want to scare you but you should probably make an appt for her. my sisters daughter had that problem and they found an issue with her heart, it wasn't circulating the way it needed to. it may just be her oxygen level also and it may just be nothing at all, but it is always better to be safe than sorry. good luck and i hope it turns out to be nothing...
