are you keeping up on his pain meds? Time it out so that he has his meds then trys to eat about 1/2 hr later. If you are worried about cal intake get him some pedisure. DD had hers done last oct she had the trifecta Tubes tons ade and she just ate fruit snacks and drank her juice and pedisure. I just recently had my tons taken out and let me tell you the pain is horrible. keep up on drinking and meds and he will be fine.

Get back to the doctor's for another look. Keep the fluids coming and possible some fruit smoothies or protein drinks would be in order. Perhaps something like Ensure to make certain nutritional needs are being met.

Get to the doctor's today and get another check but continue to keep the fluids flowing. Remember water too.

My daughter had tubes & adenoids out at same age. And surgeon said kids not feeling pain like adults was bs, kids just complain less & heal faster.

If you are worried ask doc about pain meds. My daughters ENT told us to keep her on prescription pain meds for a day or two after surgery.

If your doc said he wouldn't be in pain, then take him back to the doctor and have him look him over. Did he not give your son any pain medicine?

Time for a re-check. You certainly don't want to be going into a long weekend like this - you may end up in the ER with him if you don't get him in there today.

Good luck!

Does his throat hurt? My son who had the same operation only ate popsicles and other cold stuff for several days (because his throat hurt) but then ate just fine. Try not to worry (I know it's hard!), but give it another day or 2 and then if he's still not eating, call your doc. Good luck!
