My 11 Year Old Daughter Has Stomach Issues

For the past couple of nights my 11 year old has been throwing up, but during the day she'll be completely fine. This only happens at night . Today I got a phone call from her school saying she was in the nurse's office and her stomach hurt. I don't know what's wrong with her, but I think it's gastrointestinal problems.

What can I do next?

Waaaait.... she got up during the night throwing up the past couple of nights but you sent her to school anyway? You do know that you're supposed to keep your child home until they've been fever free, diarrhea free, and vomit free without the aid of medications for a minimum of a full 24 hours right? If she vomited last night your daughter should have been home and in best resting. Same thing yesterday.

It sounds like she has an intestinal virus that has to run its course.

Call the doc and have her tested. It could be anything from a sensitivity, to just a bad virus, to something like ceiliacs disease..

I'd take her to see the doctor at this point. No sense her continuing to feel miserable, especially if it's creeping into daytime now.

It could be just a simple stomach virus. Or it could be stress. Anything new in her life? New school, new friends ect? Is she struggling in a subject at school?
