Music Lessons for a Two Year Old

Hi Moms!
I'm interested in getting my 21 month old son exposed to a some type of a music class. Something that would offer an exposure to a variety of musical instrument and allow a little toddler to explore and play with. So far, I was only able to find Kindermusic and Gymboree that would offer the class, but I'm really looking for something that would put more focus on the music part...

If you have any suggestions, please let me know. We live in Keller, but I would be willing to take him to the sourounding cities, if needed.

Thanks a lot!!!

What can I do next?

I have heard that TCU offers some kind of mom-n-me type music class.

I know Keller Pointe offers some classes... but to get some really good, foundational music education (and have fun) I'd try:
The Master's Touch in Grapevine
www.themasterstouchschool.com
OR
Little Musicmaker (classes available - also ask for you Mom's Day Out or preschool to integrate this into the curriculum)

Best wishes!!

They offer one at TCU but tuition is sorta $$$ I e-mailed and asked for info about a year ago. It also sorta follows a semester schedule. http://www.musicprep.tcu.edu
I would try a Gymboree music class - you can try for free if you've never attended. At 21 months your child really isn't ready for a class that's not interactive so see what he thinks of it before dismissing it.

I'm not sure where you are, but I know exactly what you need! Musikgarten! This was developed by the same person who came up with Kindermusik, but is far less commercial. There are musical options through this that go on for years and several levels. My daughter and I were able to participate when she was a baby, but no longer live close enough.

Here's the person you can contact about it. She was our teacher and has a real passion for this!

My daughter is 4 and attends The Master's Touch in Grapevine. They have classes starting at 6 months. They also offer private lessons...we haven't started those, but are considering it.

I love the school, and so does my daughter. Laura Melson is the preschool teacher, and she is so good with the kids. In the Merry Music Makers class (for ages 3-5), they color pictures and sing and play some instruments, then put on a quick performance for the parents. They will be doing a Children's Opera at the end of the school year.

I live in Keller as well, and have found the commute not too bad (better than my commute to Casa Manana for theatre school!)

Their website is: www.themasterstouchschool.com

Good luck!
