My friend has MS and she's a Registered Nurse. She has no problems with doing her job. She's 32 and became one 3 years ago after her diagnosis. I say follow your dreams and don't let anything hold you back. Good Luck!
Hello Momma's!
A while back I posted a question regarding Multiple Sclerosis and a few of you responded that you have it. Well now I'm wondering what you strong women who have children and MS do for a living?
I've been a SAHM for 6 years now. My youngest is 2 1/2 and I feel like my life is finally calming down. I have my MS under control. I haven't had an exacerbation in over a year. I never got a college degree...I did some college and enjoyed it and always got good grades but never decided where I wanted to go with my education. Recently I decided that I wanted to do Radiology School but after speaking with a professor at a local college, she made me aware that with my poor memory due to the MS, patient care could be a difficult task for me. So now what? What do I pursue? Have any of you MS momma's gone for higher education? I meet the Social Security Disability guidelines, but I don't want to collect disability, I'm only 31 and feel like I have so much to offer others in life. But I also feel like I'm at a dead end and don't know what to do. Any advice or life experiences would be appreciated.
Thanks, T.

I dont have MS, but one of the mommies from my daughter's daycare does and she's a prescription drug rep. My cousin just got diagnosed a few months ago and he works for a tv and appliance store doing deliveries. Luckily, it's a family owned business and they work around his flare ups, since he doesnt have it under control yet.
I have MS and i am also a SAHM. my youngest will be 2 in october and i have been thinking that i would like to go back to school also, but i don't know what i want to be. I also have memory problems and am afraid i would have problems going back to school because of it. i am thinking of starting out slow like some gen eds first. but its scary. i am 29, i was diagnosed 14 years ago. i can't really help you i just wanted to let you know i am going through the same thing. good luck!
i dont have MS, but we thought it did. the majority of the women in my family have it, i ended up having a joint disorder and fibromyalgia. I have also tried working outside the home and running an in-home daycare. Working outside the home did not work. The pain in my knees and feet was excruciating by the end of the work day. As for the in home daycare, my back hurt from listing children so much and the stress and drama of the parents just was too much for me.
i work from home now and that has really been the answer for me. I really enjoy talking on the phone with people, i am helping people with their health (which is important to me for obvious reasons), i can work as much or as little as i like. i just all around really enjoy it. It isnt a get rich quick thing by any means, but i bring in a decent chunk every month, so it definitely helps.
i dont know if that sounds like anything you would be interested in at all, but we always need new team members! check out http://www.HealthySafeAndClean.com
I don't have MS either but it sounds like you want to help people. I could tell you about a work at home opportunity that could help you and your family, others, and supplement your income all on your schedule. Let me know if you are interested.
Kudos for you to want to continue to work when you could collect disability. There are so many who try to collect when they don't need to just to get out of work.
Make sure you are not drinking anything with aspartame in it. These can cause MS like symptoms. I am sorry to hear that you want to do more and have issues with your memory. I would do things to increase your memory like do crossword puzzles, sudoko. I hope your health improves and you get to do what you like in life. God bless
