I was wondering if anyone had any advice about childcare in the area (Lisle/Naperville). Any recommendations?

What can I do next?

K.,

What area are you looking to move to? What neighborhood, if in Chicago proper? Or what suburb?

Just saw your update.. Looks like Jamie is in your area & may have ideas for you. I'm in the near west suburbs & could recommend a place in LaGrange (but you'll probably be able to find someting closer to Naperville/Lisle). Welcome to Chicago! (It's blizzard-like weather today. Are you sure you want to come here? j/k)

Hi K.,

Moving from California will be quite an adjustment. Buy some nice warm clothing....ha..ha!
I live in Bolingbrook, which is approx 5-7 miles from Naperville/Lisle, depending on where you move to. I have a small home daycare and currently take care of a 10 month old boy and two preschool children. I may still have room for your daughter depending on when you move and what your needs are. If you are interested, you can look me up here on mamasource in the business reviews. I am listed as:
Mary's Little Lambs Family Daycare. Send me a note as to when you are moving if you want to and good luck with the move.

I would say that you should have no problem finding a place for your child that you will like. You won't need to drive far - it seems that there are childcare centers on every corner anywhere around here and tons of home daycare too. Look on Craigslist just to give you an idea of how many people offer home daycare. Also, NapervilleYardSales.com will have people post childcare.

Once you have it narrowed down to a town of where you will live or work will help a lot. You may be lucky enough to find something in your own neighborhood. Sometimes there is a neighborhood newsletter that will have ads for local childcare. I don't think the problem will be finding childcare and there is no reason to drive far.

I'd be happy to try and answer any specific questions you may come up with. :) Good luck!

Where are you moving to K.? My sister has an in home liscensed daycare and she has done it for 10 years. Right now she only has one child because the other moms either decided to stay home or lost their jobs so she is looking for more kids.

I have my girls in Bright Horizons in Downers Grove and love it. I think they also have a center in Lisle. It is a large company and very reputable. The teachers at our center are great there is a great focus on education and fun. Check out the website www.brighthorizons.com

Good Luck and I hope you are waiting to move to Chicago after the winter!
