I agree with keeping something in your stomach. I also found that certain spices increased my nasea, and it was different for both my pregancies. The first time, I couldn't eat black pepper, but cayenne was okay. The second, oregano did horrible things to me, even the smell. For both, cumin made me lose my appetite after a few bites (and left me ravenously craving unhealthy snacks later because i hadn't eaten properly!). Maybe some sleuthing and trial and error before you go? My OB also said Tums were okay. I started drinking soy milk instead of cow's milk, because regular milk increased my nasea (which sounds like it was similar to yours).
