Hi Mamas,

I TRIED to do some shopping yesterday at Walmart to find a nice outfit to wear to my daughters meet the teacher night coming up. Unfortunately I'm not a good shopper and ever since having 2 c-sections in 2 yrs, I haven't been able to find a good pair of "comfortable" jeans. I really wanted some sort of cute dress but every one I tried on seemed to make my belly look bigger. I'll admit I have some weight to lose but does that mean I can't ever dress nice???
I ended up purchasing a black knee skirt and cute top but of course the skirt STILL doesn't fit around my belly area right. Everything I try on is either too tight, too small, too big, too loose.......UUUGGGHH!!

Shopping for clothes after having 3 kids has become a depressing experience. I don't want to live the rest of my life in stretchy pants just becuase they're the only thing that works. Can someone please recommend a good affordable clothing store that "shapes" the c-section tummy well? I'll probably never afford a tummy tuck and I'm trying to lose weight but still got about 25 lbs. to go. Thanks for any advice you share with me!

P.S. I'm not rich so I can't afford any high end fashion stores! Thanks : )

What can I do next?

I would recommed getting a pair of Spanx, they are a lifesaver! I have had 2 c-sections as well and it is the only thing that I can wear under my clothes to hide the extra...They do sell a cheaper brand (by the same designer) at Target called ASSETS. They work well, but if you can spend the extra get the better brand! I only get jeans at Gap they seem to be the most comfotable but they are unsually over $50. Good luck!!

I can't attest to your question to c-section and a little overweight.

I will say that if you purchase 1-2 NICE good pieces of clothing....you can use the more economical tops. Yes, I am talking jeans of $100+ Remember the jeans will last you a long time... You get what you pay for!!!

My theory is to have GREAT jeans and then add a cute top. Sometimes throw in a killer top with the jeans/pants.

Maybe you need to just "shop" at Nordstroms or Neimans to get some guidance for your style and them go elsewhere to find that style.

The sales force at both of those stores are great at assisting you in finding the best fit for your body. Neimans is fantastic and they have in house alterations (which I always need because I have naturally large perky boobs placed on a very petite frame)

Good luck....

Definitely invest in a good tummy-sucker-inner. ;)

I found some super cute clothes for the curvy ladies on the Macy's & Dillards clearance racks yesterday. I couldn't believe the prices: seven dollars for a shirt; $15 for jeans. Lots of great deals!
