Hi J.,
Are you under a significant amount of stress right now? I have very regular periods, but there have been a couple of instances where I missed a few periods due to excessive stress.

I am very confused! I have not had a period since May 28, 2007 and have taken 2 pregnancy tests which have come back negative. I am in the process of finding a new OB/GYN close to where I work and home but I am totally freaking out. Has anyone else dealt with this. I am wondering if something is wrong with me. Does anyone have any ideas what it might be wrong? I would love to have another child!!!!! My daughter is 3 1/2 right now and I think its time. Any advice or comments are appreciated!

To you and all of you who are "not regular". It is NOT normal to be irregular. It definitely has to do with your hormones and stress levels. Blood tests can NOT determine if you are not producing the right amount of progesterone, only a saliva test can. Hormone imbalance is more prevelant in our society today because of the birth control pill, because of added steroids to our meat and milk products, and yes, to stress and diet. Many, many doctors are not up to date on what current research has proved. It is time to check yourself and find out "why" this is happening. Guessing is never good and it is not normal if you have always been regular and have not had a major life change recently. So many people just deal with what they have, when there are natural ways to restore hormone balance and have regular periods so that you can actually predict and conceive. I have planned all of my pregnancies because I am balanced. I wish you well and please take care of yourself. Get your hormones tested and if you would like more information, please feel free to contact me. Be healthy for you and your children.

Only your OB/GYN can help you with this. Chances are you are not pregnant, because the home tests are very reliable now of days. But, there could be MANY reasons why you are all of a sudden missing your period- stress, weight loss, etc. You should discuss this with your doctor ASAP. I hope all goes well.
I understand your concern. I have always been irregular. Once I went w/out a period for 6 months but mostly it's 2 or 3. This has happened all my life and I always ask my docs only to hear them say it's normal for some women. I've been tested for everything under the sun and I seem to be fine so I try not to worry about it. I did try the pill to regulate it for a while but am no longer taking that. Of course that wouldn't be an option for you since you'd love to conceive sometime soon. I now have a healthy 3 1/2 year old as well so apparently I was healthy enough to conceive her although I am not regular. I wish you the best of luck!
There are so many things that can keep you from having a period, hormones, stress, medication, travel, etc... Most likely with two negative tests you are not pregnant. Make an appt with your dr. They will do blood tests to see whats going on with your hormones.
Lots of times, due to stress, for example, you may ovulate later than normal. This can extend the time of your menstrual cycle - sometimes by quite a bit. Have you always been very regular? Is there anything going on in your life that might be causing you stress (aside from the missed period)? Have you had a change in your exercise, weight, or diet lately? All of these thigns can delay ovulation.
If the pregnancy test is negative, it's because you're not pregnant. I wouldn't worry about this too much (I've *never* had regular cycles - when we were trying to conceive with my son we did so on a 70+ day long cycle. And my last period was some time in July, 2005 - but I'm still breastfeeding my 14 month old). See a doctor if it will give you peace of mind.
I think sometimes if you have a hormonal imbalance that can happen? not a dr, but dont' panic, just go and find out what you need to know,... don't panic until there's something to panic about (which there won't be) : )
Only way to know if you are pregnant for sure is go to the doctor and get a blood test. Otherwise you may want to see your gynecologist anyway since this is abnormal for you.
