Mesh Teething Bags: the Kind You Can Put Food In

I only ever put ice cubes in mine... sorry! I think I always put them through the dishwasher, though. Bananas are HARD to get out of stuff... lol

Almost impossible to clean and really, not a good training tool since we don't suck our food through mesh bags in a normal situation. :) I guess I would suggest giving him a separate teether or a soft spoon to chew on, and feed him with a spoon, which is what he needs to learn. I have had occasion to clean mesh surfaces and it's almost impossible. I don't even like cleaning the cheese grater!

I LOVED mine for teething, and used frozen banana in it almost exclusively. For cleaning, I would rinse it as best I could, then use a toothbrush (Nipple cleaner from a bottle brush would probably work too) to scrub it clean with soap. Every other time I cleaned it, or if I knew she wouldn't use it again for a day or so, I would run it through the top rack of the dishwasher. Never had any issues with it. :)

Those things are nasty. Just cut all his food really small for now. Just my opinion :)

I love mine well my daughter should I say loves hers! We put all sorts of stuff in it and yes bananas are definitely a pain to get out of them but like one post said, full blast sprayer on the sink and then just lots of scrubbing to get clean. I haven't ever had problem with any other type of growth. Good luck and happy teething!

I never got the banana out of that dang thing! I just threw mine out.

I have two both given two me and I loved when my daughter was a bit younger she used them alot mostly with apples
Bananas are mushy why do u think they need to be in it?
I used apples cuz those re hard an could be a choking hazard
Mine are plastic with like a fabric mesh is this what you're talkin about?
When mine get messy I put soap and scrub with my hands then flip the fabric inside out then rinse a couple of times Til no soap is there.

Mine comes clean with the sink sprayer on full blast, then it goes into the dishwasher for sanitizing. Good luck

Impossible to clean, and what about the breeding bacteria? Eewwww.

Those things are good in theory, but so messy in practice. I bought them for my first and never bothered using them with my second.

Ugh, it has been years. I had a love hate relationship with mine.
Is yours dishwasher safe? I had a box that I could put on my top rack for baby things.
Also if all else fails if you have a sprayer on your sink, that really helps.
Soaking over night sometimes helps.
Good luck, I was a worrier about choking so for a while I loved it...but i was glad to be done with it = )

we used a variety of things, including all sorts of melon, sliced grapes, sweet potatoes, jerked chicken, brocoli. jarred foods thickened with cereal. I would put about a tablespoon of food in, and then put it in the freezer. Nothing oozed out. Baby loved it. As for cleaning, I would turn mine inside out, give it a scrub iwth the veg scrubber, then toss it in the dishwasher's top rack on the sanitize setting.

he loved it for about 3 weeks, then wasn't really interested. It was well worth it for the 3 weeks.

I hated it with my grand daughter, It was nothing but a gooey sticky drippy mess no matter what I put in it. It was hard to clean even after scrubbing and a couple trips in the dishwasher. It was easier and neater to wet a washcloth, twist it, and freeze. Then give it to her solid frozen. She chewed on it for a long time and was no more mess than a damp shirt. When it was time to eat we did food in small bits, but for teething, it was not worth the hassle and mess.

I had those too, they were such a PITA that I never used them, and they were too big for my DD's mouth so she ended up making a drooling mess anyway. Plus liek you said very hard to clean.

Our kids favorite thing was baby carrots because the shape was easy to get back to their molars and they are really firm. I just lathered it up and rubbed it between my hands and that seemed to work well, but I didn't ever try banana. Love those bags!
