Ok, here i am again.......Im wondering what are some ideas for meals for 1 year olds? My son will be one the end of the month......Hes been on table foods for a couple months.... What do you cook your baby for breakfast/lunch and dinner? I feel like he eats the same things over and over again.....he eats lots of chicken/turkey :)

What can I do next?

First, thanks for introducing me to this great new site! As for meals, here are some of my daughter's favs. :)

Breakfast: regular oatmeal or cream of wheat with fruit mixed in, scrambled eggs, a pancake or piece of "french toast" with steamed apples mashed together (sometimes put a little diluted juice on top to make it a little softer)

Lunch: grilled cheese with turkey or ham (loves munster and swiss cheese), generally some kind of sandwich, yobaby yogurt...

Dinner: insides of a baked potato with shredded chicken and semi mashed corn mixed in, fresh acorn or butternut squash, talapia, tortilla soup blended to thicken it a little, spaghetti, turkey meatballs with tomato sauce, chicken cordon bleu, homemade quesadilla, brisket with carrots...

Just a few ideas! My mind is going blank right now though! haha

by the time they are one they can eat anything!! i would always give them whatever we were eating for dinner. for lunch and breakfast some of the favorites were: cheese, bananas, deli meat, bread, toast, bagels, cereal, hotdogs (cut in quarters), mandarin oranges(in a can). apples(it took a while longer for them to be able to eat apples) grapes (cut in half), raisins, canned green beans, fruit cocktail, chicken nuggets, pancakes, eggs, crackers, fish sticks, canned corn, or fresh off the cob, spaghetti, spaghetti O's. chicken noodle soup (drained), macncheese.

By one my kids were eatting mostly what everyone else was eating. So if I made roast for dinner then I would shred and mash it up enough for baby to eat. Same with the veggies or other sides. Breakfast was usually finger foods like cheerios or other cereal sometimes scrambled eggs or pancakes if that is what we were having. Lunch was also whatever we ate.

For dinners, I always tried to use what we were eating. I'm not one for cooking 2 dinners. I just made sure there were a couple of things my son would probably like and if he didn't eat it all, no worries. Have you thought about introducing your foods?

My little guy is 13 months - and he loves to eat! He'll probably eat me out of house and home soon! For breakfast, he typically has cheese toast, waffles, cinnamon toast, a biscuit, or scrambled eggs. Most of these I just pop into the toaster oven for a minute or so (except the eggs, of course). He eats breakfast at home w/me around 8am, then he has another one (light breakfast snack - usually fruit) around 9am at daycare. He eats lunch at daycare around 11:30 (it's an entree and a fruit or veggie) - the usually eat some type of meat/rice casserole, chicken nuggets, quesadillas, etc. He then has snacks at about 2:30pm and 4:30pm (crackers, goldfish, cookies, bananna, raisens, etc). I pick him up at 6pm, and he eats dinner w/my hubby and me at 7pm - he eats whatever I'm cooking for us. If for some reason he can't have what I'm cooking for us (ex: soup), then I usually fix him a little mini pizza - HIS FAVORITE. I use a Kidz Whole Wheat tortilla (buy them at Market Street - a pak of 6 for about $2), spread spaghetti sauce on it and then top it w/mini pepperonis and mozzerella cheese - it cooks in the toater oven in about 2-3 mins - serve it w/some frozen peas that I heat in the microwave (also his favorite) and he's good to go! :)

You already have some great advice on here. Some things that we avoided when our kids were one and introduced to table foods were fish, nuts and peanut butter. You may want to call the doctor to see if there is a list of items to avoid, just to be on the safe side. :-)
