My fiance has been in a bit of a funk and I knew he would tell me what was up when he was ready. Well, last night after the kids went to bed he sighed and said 'I may have some potentionally upsetting news'... My first thought was that he was losing his job. Well, now I could only hope that had been the case.
I've never heard anything like this before, and googling didn't really address the issue, so I'm wondering if anyone has heard of a guy having something like this. This may be TMI for some people.
He said he has a very uncomfortable lump on his perineum (the part between the anus and scrotum, very close to the scrotum, he mentioned it as being 'between the boys'). It's definately coming from the inside pushing out. It's flesh colored; we definately know it's not an ingrown hair or wart (ew) or any kind of cyst-like bump. It's bigger than a pea, smaller than a grape. Any ideas?
That being said, and I didn't bring this part up to him yet because I didn't want to worry, but lately, more and more frequently, he's been having trouble getting erections. This may or may not be related, but I feel like it's something worth mentioning considering where the lump is. It's like as the lump gets bigger, the harder time he has getting, well, hard. He's 38 years old.
Again, google really didn't describe anything similar. I think the best place for him to start is by going to a regular PCP, because they'll give us a little more direction as to who to see next... oncologist, proctologist, urologist, etc. So we've got a gameplan in place, I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any male who has ever had this (or something similar) and what it is.
Could just be a cyst. Could be a hernia like previously mentioned.
A cyst can grow and push on nerve endings causing the ED. Hernias can DEFINATELY cause ED.
If you have an HMO, you'll have to see the PCP first. I'd likely start there anyhow.
I would even go as far as to say that the ED is psychosematic because of this lump.

I'm no doctor, but it sort of sounds like a hernia. The absolute best thing to do is to get to a doctor ASAP.

Maybe a lymhnode swelling. Please dont work yourself up into a tizzy over it, wait for the results. Most likely it is nothing, the human body is such a lumpy thing!

Send him to the Doctor!!!! Again, not to scare you, or him, but my brother (33) found a lump on one of his testicles last spring and it was cancer. He had that testicle removed and the cancer came back (enlarged lymphnode) this winter. He just finished his last radiation treatment yesterday. BE PROACTIVE! It could save his life!

GO TO THE DOCTOR. They've seen it all. Odds are that because he's young and it's nothing serious, but it could be something. If it is "something" the one thing that I can say with certainty is that it's easier to fix a small something than a big something. He'll really kick himself if it turns out to be a big deal and because he was a baby about going to the doctor it's harder to treat.
I'll be thinking of you. Good luck.

A cyst, swollen gland, hernia, tumor, hemmroid you name it it can be anything. The best option & only option at this point is to see a DR pinpoint when it was noticed, how big it has become does it hurt, the ED,blood in stool, any medications,I have been told the ones you worry about are hard push the tip of your nose feel how it bounces back those are ok now push your forhead its hard no bouncing back that is a worry.Googling it you'll just receive inaccurate information till you know that exact name & cause

regardless of what you think it is.....definitely see a dr immediately. My vote would be for a urologist.
