Hi S.,
I had a c-section at Medical Center of Lewisville 6 months ago and absolutely loved it. I had a c-section 2 years ago at Baylor Grapevine, but found Lewisville to be so much better. I hope you have a wonderful experience~

What are your thoughts on giving labor/Delivery at this hospital. I did all of my fertility stuff at Presby Plano. However, I live in Flower Mound and wanted something closer to home. PLease give me some insight. I really want to be at a great facility to give birth to our first baby. Dr. Fliedner is my new OBGYN.

I work at Medical Center of Lewisville, so my opinion might be bias. However, I love our hospital, it is a smaller hospital so there is more personal attention. The rooms on the Labor and Delivery Floor & the OB floor are very large and very nice. The nurses on these floors are wonderful as well. It really depends on what you are looking for in a hospital, but Medical Center of Lewisville is a great hospital and is always striving for better quality.
Hey there my ob was dr fliedner and i loved him he is a little nerdy but hes great. he was my ob for my daughter and my son until i was about 4 months, insurance changed so i had to change. if it were my choice i'd go back. good luck and you'll do fine, hes a wonderful ob. i remeber he would close his eyes when he do the heartbeat. have fun!!!!
I had 2 C-sections at Medical Center of Lewisville and they took great care of me. There is one nurse we didn't like, but I think that's typical of any experience (can't love everyone!). With a c-section, you're in the hospital longer, so I think we got a chance to meet most of the nursing staff. Anesthesiologists are GREAT.
I gave birth to my son at Medical Center of Lewisville in 2004 and plan to have my daughter there this June. I loved the nurses that helped me both with delivery and postpartum. I thought the labor/delivery rooms were nice and roomy. Dr. Fliedner is also my doctor, and I absolutley love him!
S.,
First let me offer my congratulations! Second, things may be a lot different now at the hospital (new staff, policies, etc.) so don't be discouraged by my experience.
I had my son at Lewisville Medical nearly 3 years ago and didn't have the best experience. I had a birth plan that was to be drug-free and all natural which was not supported by any of the nursing staff or the doctor on call. My OB wasn't on-call so I had to use the back-up who was pro-drugs and didn't hesitate to voice her opinion on my silly drug-free birth choice. Thank goodness I had a doula at my side to keep me focused on my plan.
I just delivered my 2nd baby at Denton Regional and had a GREAT experience there. My OB is Laura Finger and she is amazing! The nurses in L&D and the nursery were great and supportive and I left there feeling good about the birth and myself.
But each birth experience really depends on the patient all in all. Remember that if you go into labor on your own that you may not have your OB deliver you which is why many people choose induction. I recommend getting to know Dr. Fliedner's back-up staff so you feel more comfortable on labor day.
Enjoy your pregnancy!!!!

I just gave birth to my son at Lewisville Medical Center about 7 months ago. I had a great experience, the nursery is awesome. I went in at night to be induced and had the greatest Nurse ever, her name was Nancy. She was so sweet and caring. We also took our Prepared Childbirth class there which was free since we were delivering there.
If you have any specific questions e-mail me so we can chat.

With my first we used Medical Center of Lewisville (3yrs ago) just after there remodel. I had a very good experience with all aspects from Labor and Delivery to recover and exit. I know some women who say they would never deliver there because they heard through so and so that it was horrible. But never from someone who actually went.
My friend just had a baby in Dec at Presby Plano and I don't think her experiance was wonderfull. She had a horrible room that was either freezing or buring up. It took hours for someone to never bring her juice and meds.
Anyway, congrats on you baby and have fun.
