Medela Freestyle Pump

The Medela breast pump work great. I had used it when I was going back to work after having my daughter. Even though I didn't want to go back. And then I became a stay at home mom and I am Loving it. Have you ever thought about satying home and working from home? But YES the Medela Pump is a very good pump. And I have tried many pumps

I have the Pump in Style Advanced. I love it! Don't waste your money like I did, go for Medela, expensive but worth it.

I see that you have had great responses and mine is no different. I have the Medela and I love it. Check with your insurance, luckily mine covered my pump. All I needed was a note from the dr that I was a nursing mom. Also, I don't know what this hands free is all about, but I would suggest getting the bras so you can still use your hands. I never did that, but looking back, it would have been nice to read a book or something while pumping. Congrats on your first baby!!!

I have had the Pump In Style Advanced for 3 years and used it through 2 newborns. It works great.

I have the Pump In Style - definitely go electric if you're going to pump at all regularly - you get what you pay for with a pump!

I also had a Medela Pump in Style and loved it. No hands free versions when I was working and nursing, but I was able to be hands free by adjusting the height of my chair and resting the collection bottles on the desk so I was able to still use my computer...talk about multitasking! I'd definitely go with the Medela freestyle if I were you. It might be pricey, but it is still waaay cheaper than formula!!

Like many have stated already, the Medela brand is very popular, durable and reliable. The price my be shocking at first, but it definetly pays for itself in the long run. Just think of the money you will save when you don't have to buy all that formula. I had the Pump In Style and it lasted through three babies and am looking to sell it now.

I wish I could of more help in regards to the pump you are questioning, but you have received advice from those of us that have used the older models to the newest models and we have not been disappointed.

With pumps, you get what you pay for. I have a Medela Swing and it is awesome. Don't be tempted by less expensive pumps!

I don't know what this "hands-free" pump costs, but I have seen nursing bras that are cut so that you can set the pump shield right in your bra cup--it holds it there, so your hands are free. Buying a couple of those bras and a "traditional" electric might be cheaper, just a thought. Good luck!

Count me in for another vote for the Medela Pump in Style!

The lactation consultant that I spoke with said that this is not a pump that you can use until you have been pumping for a few months though. The pumps your rent from the hospital are designed for this. So, if you will be checking with your insurance company on the cost of the Medela - also see if they will cover rental fees.
