I am a missionary who is only home in Texas once a year, when I try to get my physical done, including a mammogram and a pap smear. But as I live on a limited (missionary's) budget, and my insurance has a $500 deductible, I need to find a good, inexpensive source. Can anyone help?
I recommend the Cooper Clinic. They offer a discount to missionaries. They have a whole menu of medical tests you can pick and choose from and have done all in one day.
Planned Parenthood offers their services on a sliding scale basis.

I am in a similar situation. My dh has been unemployed since December and our short-term insurance ran out and we cannot afford private insurance. I'm having to put our kids on CHIP and am overdue for a mammogram myself.
I believe you can call Parkland Hospital and ask for a Health center near you for your annual well woman exam. You may have to ask for a referral regarding mammograms and see if they can recommend one. I know the Baylor Hospital does discounted mammograms, but only if your doc refers you because you have symptoms like soreness, bleeding or discharge, detect a lump, etc.

I know you can go to Planned Parenthood for your pap smears and physical and they charge on a sliding fee schedule based on your income. I'm not sure if they do mammograms though, you might want to call 800-230-7526 and they can tell you were the nearest one is. I hope this helps.
