Are you breast feeding ? My son got them early at about 2 or 3 months. It was from breast feeding. He was getting my hormones in my milk. He is 10 & 1/2 months now and they have been gone for a while. Just a thought, good luck.
I have just noticed when picking my daughter up that she has lumps under her nipples, I know she is a girl but at 7 months is that normal?? My sitter also watched a 2 year old and she does not have them. I called my doctors office and they would not anser my question the receptionist stated to make an appt and refused to ask the Doctor. I just wanted to know if this is normal and if anyone else 7 month old has these lumps??? Help!!

Hi A.,
My first assumption would be that you are or have been breast-feeding your baby. My daughter also had these lumps when she was an infant, and my pediatrician told me that it is from the estrogen in my breast milk. I'm sure it is nothing to worry about, but if it would make you feel better...take her in and have it looked at. Better safe than sorry. :)
I noticed the same thing with my daughter when she was around 6 months old. Her doctor didn't worry much about it. He said that it could be possibily from horomones, still. We found out that it was from her soy formula, and then soy milk just made it 100 times worse. We switched her to lactose free milk and within weeks we noticed a hugh difference.
Yes, this is normal. I am a daycare provider and I remember Mothers talking to me about this. They asked their doctors and found out it is just normal. Something about the way some baby girls form. Your a good Mom to notice these things! Take Care.

Just wondering if you are breastfeeding? My daughter also had little hard lumps directly behind her nipples. I asked my doctor about it and she told me that it is from the hormones in my body. She told me it was nothing to worry about.
A.,
I don't have any advice on the lumps and I was happy to see so many responses, but I would like to say something about your doctors office.
If the receptionist won't even leave a message for the doctor with a question (regardless of whether the order for that came from the dr or her own initiative) and insists you make an appt just to ask a question..I would be considering other pediatricians.
Your child is only seven months old and you will have many questions in the future. Are they going to require you to make an appt for every one of them. Frankly, I was a little shocked to read that portion of your request.

I agree with Laurie, you definately need a new pediatrician.
yes , my daughter is 2 1/2. we noticed then @18 months. we took her to the doctor. i was told its rare(i forgot the name for it), its predevelopment. they are watching my daughter. we go every 6 months to have them checked. so make a doctor appt, and take her!
