I swear if you just really eat right, it will melt away by itself after a few months. I don't even really mean low fat, just balance everything, eat lots of protein and veggies with moderate starchy carbs. It worked both times for me.
did any one try to loose weight while breast feeding

I did on Weight Watchers. I lost 50 lbs in 9 months. They have a program specifically for breastfeeding mamas.
I'm now breastfeeding my 3.5 month old twins. And I feel that I'm gaining not losing weight. My appetite was normal during pregnancy but when I started breastfeeding (especially the first few weeks) I have started eating all the time. Really, like a vacuum cleaner:) I also want to try Weight Watchers. They helped me lose weight in the past, and I was glad to read that they have modifications for nursing moms.
Do not try to lose weight nursing takes 60 lbs off the mom in a year. If you are nursing full time just eat organic food...even the chicken or cheese, all should be organic. Pesticides and herbicides are some of what makes us so fat as a culture. Avoid high fructose corn syrup in all your food. Put your family on an organic diet and you will seldom be sick.
I didn't lose weight with breastfeeding. It came of after I weened my kids.
There seems to be no correlation between weight loss and breastfeeding. It is too random.
I didn't try, but I was one of those lucky ones where the weight flew off. I breastfed my twins for 15 months, and by the time I was done I weighed 20 pounds less than when I became pregnant with them. I'm hoping it's that easy for me this time with baby #3 coming soon.
You don't "try" to lose weight while breast feeding - it just happens naturally.
You need to eat healthy and remember to drink plenty of water.
I lost all my baby weight while breastfeeding during the year after my third was born. It just all seemed to fall off without much effort - I just tried to eat reasonable portions. Now that he's been weaned and I'm not burning those calories for lactation, it's not as easy :)
It is a known fact that it takes more calories to digest celery then the amount of calories that are in celery.
There are a number of issues that you need to address with your doctor about your metabolism. I was always running around after I stopped nursing, but I did run around with the 3rd while nursing. For him, I could eat 6 eggs at one sitting. I did a lot of things according to a nutritionist and reading a lot of nutrition books and cookbooks.
Try to stay away from high salt. I found a lot of soy drinks, food supplements with the approval of the ob/gyn (he got them for me), I was doing good....the weight just melted away. Be careful! and Good Luck!
I didnt have to try. Actually after my 6 week post appointment when I got the go ahead to start working out and lifting things again I thought okay I am ready for this Mummy tummy to get some TLC and I think I worked out for a week and lost over 10 pounds in that one week. I quickly realized that if I kept that up I would disappear so I stopped and just went about my day as normal and before I knew it I wasnt fitting into any of my regular clothes because I had lost too much weight. I actually started to lose so much weight that at 8 months I almost switched to formula because I was becoming very unhealthy. I was lucky to just eat like a pig and stay on track long enough to make it the year but it has been almost 3 months since I have completely stopped BF and I am just now starting to see some weight being put back on
Good Luck
I'm currently nursing my 4 month old (and third baby) and can't lose an ounce! It's SO freaking frustrating. If I cut down on calories, my milk suffers; if I work out too much, my milk suffers. I *wish* I was one of those women whose baby (and a little extra) weight just melted off while breastfeeding, but I am not. I'm just gonna have to wait till babe's a year before really trying.
For me, it's more important for my baby to have breastmilk the first year than for me to look good in a bikini this summer ;o)
I didn't specifically but the nursing helped me use up calories and drop the baby weight. I think as long as you're not trying to go on any crash or fad diet, healthy changes to encourage more weight loss (and exercise - get baby out in stroller), you should be fine. Remember you put it on over 9 mo. It's not going to come off overnight.
For those that started nursing and are frustrated, I was kind of at a plateau for a bit and then one week it turned a corner. Maybe that corner is coming for you? No way could I get into my pre-baby jeans at 2 mo. postpartum.
I lost weight successfully twice while breastfeeding and following Weight Watchers. They have plan modifications specifically for nursing mothers that really helped me take the weight off sensibly and without interfering with nursing.
I did a little running, but found that I didn't really need to to lose the weight. I lost all of my baby weight by the time my baby was 3 months old - just by breastfeeding. And I might add, I ate like a horse - I was always starving! My baby is 4 1/2 months now and I'm fitting into all my clothes, except some jeans (because my hips widened ;) ). I'm at my pre-pregnancy weight of 124. I weighed 155 the day before I gave birth. Now I'm just doing pilates to get some tone back.
Nope, I gained weight. Probably because I was needed to be home pretty much 24/7 and I slept when my son did. The weight is coming of NOW--four years later!
No. I lost it once I weaned, sorry.
Yes. I lost all the weight I gained from my daughter within 2-3 weeks of giving birth. I didn't gain any more after. Be careful... your body IS using some of your food to produce milk, BUT if you get used to eating more once you STOP breastfeeding you will gain back weight.
I did not have to try the weight I gained while pregnant just seemed to melt off and by 3 months I was back to my normal weight.
I believe all women lose weight while breastfeeding because it raises metabolism.
