Looking to Work from Home

My daughter is 8 weeks old and I'm due to go back to work in 4 weeks. I can't bare the thought of giving her to someone else take care of. Does anyone have any suggestions for working from home? I don't know where to begin and it seems like all the things on-line are a scam. I have plenty of administrative and internet/computer experience. Any advice would be appreciative. I would possibly be interested in watching someone elses child if he/she were a little older. Thanks!

Amy,
I cannot recommend a particular job for you, but I can tell you that I was in your position almost four years ago. I ended up returning to work full time, and while it worked out okay, I always wanted to be with my son more. We had another little boy last March, and I've been home since then, but have been trying to figure out how to avoid going back this fall (I am a high school counselor). I always read when I'm confused, and a couple books I found useful were Mompreneurs (there's also Mopreneurs Online) and The Stay-at-Home Mom's Guide to Making Money from Home- I can't tell you the perfect job for you, because your skills and interests are going to be uniquely yours- I'd say check out these books for some ideas (especially the Stay-at-Home Mom's Guide...). It's taken me almost four years, but I've finally figured out what I'm going to try, and now I'm just praying it works out! It is possible, but you'll want to spend some time really thinking about what you're good at and what you'll enjoy! Good luck!

I understand where you are coming from! I went to work after 9 weeks of maternity leave and cried. Pretty quickly after I started working, I was ok knowing the day care was great and my son actually enjoyed the outside stimulation. I would still like to work part time though. Have you thought about part time, having mommy time to do adult things is also nice for yourself!! Just a thought.

I myself have been looking at the work-from-home sites and would like to know how to do so. Good luck with your search!!

This might be a bit late but you might want to watch job sites like homejobstop.com and virtualassitants.com. They have a lot of legitimate jobs but they are both members only sites. Before I started my own business, I did some freelance projects as well as some jobs I received from these sites.

I started a sourcing company for human resource professionals since I have over 20 years in Human Resources, etc.

You might think about what you love to do and start doing it as a business. Maybe you will have to go back to your job for a little while and build your business to the level where you can quit. I have stayed home the entire time with my youngest who is now 4 thanks to a very successful business.

There are also some minor things you can do to supplement. I joined a few things here and there but found that marketing this site that I didnt pay for has also netted me some cash http://www.allsolutionsnetwork.com/TD/TD38807)

Best of success to you and yours,

T. D Duncan
My full tmie business that I started with a managing partner is http://www.QCit.us.

Hope I've given you some ideas.

Hi A.,

I just had my 2nd son May 8th and I am in the same position you are in. I have a 3yr old in preschool already and I had a really hard time going to work after him. I too am in search of a stay at home position as I know I will not be able to concentrate on clients thinking about my baby. I am looking high and low and I will share with you any leads. Good luck in your search!!

Good day,
I am not sure if they are still hiring, but I know of a company called Live OPs. They are a type of call center that you do at home. I believe their website is liveops.com. It is not a salary position, it is per call if I remember, but it may be an option for you. I have a 18mth old and I sold Pre-Paid Legal from home the first year. It was enough to allow me to stay home, but not enough to make a real profit. If you are at all interested, you can go to cindyfromindy.com and get some information. Let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck in your search.
