There is a fairly new preschool called Imagination Station that I heard about from a co-worker. It sounds great and I'm going to tour it on Friday but I'd like to hear from anyone else who's had experience with it, good or bad. Thanks!

What can I do next?

We LOVE it!! My son's last day is today and he is very sad...he keeps saying he will miss his teachers! My daughter is going there next year. My son had a very hard time being away from Mom for the first time, but the teachers were so good to him, and made the transition go as smoothly as it could. I only have good things to say...the year has flown by and it has been a great one for everyone!!

I have to add...I just read the other response...and they are talking about the daycare. I have never seen anything like that even in the daycare, but the preschool is separate anyway from the daycare. There is one director and two teachers--and they are all very well trained, dedicated, and work wonderfully with the kids. There is no chaos in the classroom. they actually call the preschool "education station". Again, I would highly recommend it...and I know all three teachers will be returning next year too (in addition to two new ones because they are expanding there space and adding another classroom). You will see on Friday...and I think you will love it!

I personally have never been to Imagination Station but my sister-in-law took her three children there in the past. She said that everytime she got there, it was complete chaos, lots of screaming, not only by the kids, but by the teachers, as well. She said that the kids were always out of control, and that a lot of hitting, name calling, etc. went on. She pulled them out immediately.

I think probably all centers are chaotic at times but she said that this one was unusually so. It is a matter of how much control the teacher has over her group of children. Many times, centers hire young girls who have no adult experience with children in large groups. They don't know how to talk to kids in an adult way or have age appropriate expectations of the kids. I hope this helps.

I have a friend who has had her son there since she went back to work after maternity leave and he is now 4 years old.
she loves it!! he loves it!!!!
i have never heard anything bad about it and when i just asked her for this post she said she never heard a teacher yell at anyone. kids can be rambungtouse of course.. as all kids can be. i would suggest dropping in with out an appointment if you can to see how things are when they aren't expecting you. that was one bit of advice i was given when looking at preschools for my son.
good luck. it's hard sometimes to trust others with our kids:-)

J. -

It is a wonderful preschool!! I worked there a few years ago and if it wasn't completly out my way my child would be going there. The teachers all have (or are getting) early childhood degrees and the curriculum is top notch. It is a very caring, educational and stimulating enviornment.

As far as the daycare goes - it is seperate and I worked there as well. I honestly never heard a voice raised from a teacher or anything as chaotic as indicated in the previous response and am not sure if things have changed as dramtically since I left... (by the way - I loved working there but left to work in the public school system)

Hope this helps!
