How far are you from Duvall? We have a wonderful instructor that we have used for 4 years. Payment options....1/2hr twice a week..... I will give you all the details if you are interested.
Hello everyone. I'm hoping to find a once a week swimming class (on a weekend day) for my 15 month old son that's somewhat near my house. I live in Woodinville, near Bothell, Kirkland & North Redmond. I took my older son to Water Babies (waterbabies.net), but their closest location to me is Bellevue and I just can't justify driving that far once a week with gas prices as high as they are right now. We can't really afford any type of private lessons, so a group class will probably be our only option. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Thank you so much!
Thank you so much to everyone who responded. I'm currently looking into classes at the Mountlake Terrace pool, as well as the Northshore YMCA. We went by and saw the Mountlake Terrace pool today and it was pretty cool, though it's a bit more of a drive than I was hoping for. Depending on class schedules, availability and cost, we will probably choose from one of the two though.
Thanks again everyone! I was so pleased at the responses I received. :o)

Hi W.,
Local community centers and YMCAs have swimming classes that are once a week. Both of my sons (4 and 7 year olds)are taking it at our local YMCA. They have a variety of programs for babies and tots. Try to do a search online for a YMCA closest to you and see if they offer swimming classes.
My girls took lessons at the Gold's Gym in Woodinville. They are older then your little guy, but the instructors there were great and very friendly. The locker rooms and pool were clean and well maintained.
Hi,
We live in Canyon Park and we take our daughter (who's 3) to Mountlake pool. They are wonderful there with the kids. Since your son is 15 months old you would need to do the parent and tot class with him. They have weekend classes but they are tough to get into. I believe the next registration is around Aug 22. The best advice I was given is get your login and password from mountlake terrace for online registration and the day registration opens be on the system at midnight if possible to get a spot. We did the tot class with my daughter for 10 weeks and it was fun and got her very comfortable in the water.
We also did water babies when she was younger but we didn't want to drive all the way to Bellevue either. I do believe that water babies does have some classes in a Kirkland pool though so you might want to check into that. Mountlake terrace classes in my opinion are just as good at a fraction of the cost of water babies.

Golds Gym in Woodinville has swim lessons. I don't know anything about their program, I have just seen the signs. I do know that you don't have to be a member to take lessons there. Although, I was going to suggest waterbabies, who does have a Kirkland location by the way, as well as one in Silver Lake which is barely north of Bothell.
Hi W. - the Northshore YMCA in Bothell has parent/tot classes that are fun. When the children reach 3 they can either be in classes without parents or the parent/pike classes. Hope that helps! Great name by the way! :-) W. F
Hi W.!
My son just started at the YMCA off Beardslee in Bothell. He's having a great time!

We did a class at St Edwards Pool and liked it!
W.,
The YMCA in Bothell on Beardsley Blvd. has a Water Tots class that is for 6 months to 2 years. There is Monday morning, Wednesday morning, and Saturday classes. I co-teach on Mondays and Wednesdays, and have subbed once for the Saturday class. My daughter is 17 months and she comes to the class with me. It's GREAT!!
Hope this helps,
Melissa
Hi- what a lovely area ( I retired a year ago from the special ed, preschool '''arm''' of Northshore schools). There is Woodmoor elementary school in the Northshore district- they have a shallow pool- and I believe- have lessons - and there is a fabulous pool with daily classes about 15 minutes up the 405 freeway -- Montlake Terrace Recreational Center -- there well may be other such facilities closer - there is a good pool with classes just ''down'' Bothell way --Shoreline Pool--- good luck- likely other Moms know even better than I ---
Blessings
