Looking for Someone That Makes Baby Slings???

I am hoping that maybe someone will know who I am looking for. I was working at a holiday boutique in November...Gifts From the Heart in Mesa. There was a vendor there that made baby slings, burp cloth, etc. from her home. You picked the fabric, she fitted it to you and she made them right in front of you. At the time I wasn't planning on having a baby but am now due in August and cannot remember her business name or her name. Does anyone know who this might be or do you know someone that does this for a business? I realize I can order them from someone else or buy them in a store but these were very lightweight, easy and very affordable. Also, she was such a nice lady and love to support other moms.

Thanks,
M.

My friend put on the gifts from the heart show. I was there helping her everyday and remember the lady you are talking about. I can't remember her name but I could probably get her information from Emily for you. Let me know if you still need it.

The lady who makes them is a mom who is an advocate of babywearing (I love it, too) and in addition to making her specialty pouch sling she also lists and sells all other types of slings. I would be careful about homemade, seeing as not all slings are made equal. She has a whole list of different types of slings and the pros and cons of each and instructions with photos on all the different ways to wear each sling. So even if you don't buy a sling from www.kangarookorner.com, I highly recommend it as a resource. I bought an Over The Shoulder Baby Holder on ebay for $10 and went to www.kangarookorner.com to find out all the different ways I can wear my babies as they grow. I still wear my 2-year-old on occasion (grocery store or vacuuming) and sometimes my 4-year-old even wants worn if he needs some extra attention (I wear him like a hands-free piggyback ride). A sling is hands-down the one mommy tool I could not live without if I had to choose just one thing to recommend to other moms. I am the opposite of a packrat, but my sling is the motherhood momento I will keep to remind me of the hours of sweet bonding I experienced with my babies.

I am in a mom's group with a lady who makes beautiful slings. She lets you pick the fabric and she will make you a sling. Her name is Mia and her e-mail address is ____@____.com.

Hi M.,
If you don't find her, a good friend of mine makes gorgeous slings- she just started but made me a beautiful ring sling and is working on a pouch. I wore my son in a ring sling until he was about 14 months old and although the one Barb made needs a little tweeking, she did a great job. Congrats on baby #4!
