I'm looking for some playdates (something free or low cost and def. something low key)in clearwater area. I'm looking for something for my 4 y/o mostly to socialize her to prepare her for kindergarden, and also something for my 2 y/o, both daughters, looking for kids close to their own age.
Since moving to FL about 5 or 6 years ago, we've been so busy we haven't had much time, and haven't really made many friends, so looking for some "Mom friends" as well. I'm 32 and hubby is 46, and the friends that I have made are much younger with no kids, so I'm looking for friends closer to my age, with children so we can have stuff in common.

Check out yahoo groups and meetup.com. Both have tons of local playgroups you can join. It's a great way to meet other moms and to find friends for the kids. I've joined several of the meetup groups for my business and have made some wonderful friends, but I've noticed tons of playgroups and have friends that are in some of them and have heard great things. Also try places like Gymboree, Rollie Pollies and The Little Gym. The classes are great and also a great way for both your children and you to meet other people. Good luck!!

Hi K. - My name's K. and I work at the Dunedin Fine Art Center/David L. Mason Children's Art Museum in Dunedin, FL. We've got playgroups, family time, and low-cost art classes for kids of all ages!
Coming up, we have a bilingual (spanish/english) playgroup that is try it free for first-timers (October 11th), a Target sponsored Family Time on October 14th from 1:30 -3 pm, and a mini-masters class, for 3.5-5 year olds, on October 17th. Those classes are both low-cost ($5 materials fee).

I would possibly be interested. We moved here 3 months ago from South Dakota. I have found other children for mine to socialize with, but we are missing the close friends that we left behind! I'm not sure if my kids ages match with yours or not. Mine are also both girls. One will be 4 in November, when did yours turn 4? My other daughter is 13 months old.
