My son is turning 2 this week and I would like to get him in some kind of preschool/daycare setting. He isn't talking yet so I'm hoping that being around several other kids will help. Anyone know of anything?
This is an old post so I dont know if you are still looking but I have a recent opening in my home daycare. I am located in the Harvester area very close to the Page Ave. Extension. If you are still in need of childcare, i would love to talk with you.

I just enrolled my almost 3 year old at Westgate Christian Academy's Summer Camp. The cost is $27/day and you provide lunch they will provide snacks. My son has never been in day care so getting him to stay somewhere without us is almost impossible, but he stayed here from 8-3 without any problem and when we came to pick him up he didn't want to leave. They are open from 6am -6pm but don't recommend leaving your child for more than 10 hours a day. They can be reached at ###-###-####

There are two daycares on Hwy. K. Tutor Time and I believe the other is ABC ... (it's next to the library I believe). My sister had her son (now 13) at the Tutor Time and he liked it. She did as well. You might also investigate church daycares.

Hi P.,
When I read your posting I immediately knew I had to reply. You indicated your child isn't talking yet. If this is true, PLEASE have an ENT (not your Pediatrician) examine his ears. My son was barely speaking at 2 years old. For 12-14 months, since my son was between 10 and 12 months old, I voiced my concerns to our Pediatrician regarding our son not speaking much at all. He examined his ears at every appointment and indicated his ears looked "fine". Our Pediatrician, (including the other two Pediatricians on his staff), indicated I shouldn't worry, that he was letting his older brother do his talking for him, and that I should give it more time. I asked my Pediatrician several times if he could give my son a hearing test. Our pediatrician indicated it wasn't necessary. After my son's second birthday I got tired of our Pediatrician making excuses and I took our son to an ENT. Within seconds of looking inside my son's ears, the ENT determined our son needed tubes! Our son got tubes shortly thereafter and began speaking TWO DAYS after his tubes were in! Unfortunately, those two years he wasn't hearing well caused my son to have developmental delay. I highly urge you to have your son's ears checked. Take care!
