Children's World on Browning in east Arlington does drop in care. I've inquired about it myself, but have not done it yet. They charge $10, minimum of 2 hours,I think.
My child is about to turn one year. I want to start incorporating childcare one day a week for now. I am having trouble finding a center that can do one day. If you have advice or a referral please let me know.

I take my daughter to a moms day out program here in GP. Please email me if you would like more info.
I live in South GP.
SouthPark Baptist Church on Warrior Trail and Carrier Pkwy has a Mother's Day Out on Thursdays from 9:30 am until 2:30pm. I have two girlfriends who send their daughters there and they really like it. The semester has already started so look them up and give them a call!
i would suggest you look at church's that offer preschool programs or 'mother's day out' programs. they are much more flexible than regular daycares and/or in-home care that usually require a week long commitment. my daughter goes to the NorthCare program at the North Church. we are not members there, but heard about and later tried the program for one day a week. this year we are doing 2 days/week. they offer up to 4 days and you pay per day. hope this helps.
When I taught in GP, my daughter went to an individual, Shelley Needham. I believe her phone number is in the phone book. If not e-mail me back and I will find her information for you.
You may want a center instead, but I was VERY pleased with Shelley.
