Have you tried your local YMCA? I just received a brochure for their swim lessons for children. One of my friends takes her daughter there and loves it.

I have my two boys in lessons at the Wheaton Sports Center (on Gary). I'm not sure what age they start taking children, but my boys are 2 and 3. It's great - they are in the same class. They do not have the parents in the water with the children - in their class it has been about 3-4 kids to 2-3 teachers. Another option is the YMCA in Glen Ellyn - I have friends that have taken their kids there and seem to like it.
Speaking from experience with infant swim techniques, there's really nothing too it - it's very, very basic. You may want to consider researching the subject a little and teach them yourself; possibly a mommy group that focuses on swimming would be helpful. The general concept of infant swim class is to get them very comfortable with water, especially water in their face (eyes, ears, nose, and mouth); also, learning to trust the watery environment. Feel free to correspond with me directly. Kevin
i am also looking for a program for my 2 yr old in the lisle area
Hi M. -
When my son was about 8 months old we attended Water Babies at the Rush-Copley Healthplex in Aurora. They have a warm water pool where you do the class and my son and I really enjoyed it.
Just log on to www.rushcopley.com and click on Healthplex and it gives you all the info.
Hope I was able to help. I know Wheaton isn't super close to Aurora, but it's not too far.

I know the YMCA has swim classes for all ages, but it may be a bit pricey if you are not a member. We recently signed up my 5 and 2 year old for swim classes at a place called Glass Courts which is in Lombard on Roosevelt Rd. The class sizes are really small which I think is good - it is also reasonably priced. Good luck.
Thanks,
K.
My daughter has been taking swim lessons at the YMCA since she was 6 months old and loves them. They're very structured and repetetive, focusing on teaching kids to swim as a reflex when they hit the water at such a young age. My brothers and I did them at the Y as well when we were young.
You might want to try a local YMCA. They often how infant swim classes. A different park district may also offer them. Mine does. I am in the Elk Grove Village/Schaumburg area.
Check out your local YMCA they have a great gym and swim for 6mos+ and I go to Edward Health and Fitness who also has a reat program. They are located in Lisle on Rt 53 (Seven Bridges)
