Looking for Infant Daycare in East Dallas

Our first baby is due in February and I plan to go back to work in August. I'm looking for a reliable day care to send our child to- they will be 6 months at the time. We live in Lakewood and I teach school in Highland Park ISD, so we are looking for something in the Lake Highlands, Lakewood, University/Highland Park area. We do not have a preference between a day school, nanny, or home care.

What can I do next?

I've heard great things about SCDC and the Community School as noted below. When my eldest was an infant I placed her in a home daycare I found on the licensed daycare site the state runs. Don't know the link off-hand. Through that I found Ms. Jeanette Harris off of Kenwood just off the M Streets. She was great and I'd do it again. She was not only great with the kids, but she helped me as a first time Mom to know what was going on with my kid when I didn't realize/know it myself. She always has a wait list so check her out if you're looking for Feb.

Both of my kids (now 9 and 7) went through East Dallas Development Center at Oram and Skillman (right near Live Oak and Skillman). They still want to go back to visit old teachers and friends. It was a great environment for them. I highly recommend it. You need to get on the waiting list early. Good luck!

DaUghter went to The Community School on Binkley, just off of Hillcrest, across from SMU & down from Highland Park Middle School. We were very pleased! She started kindergarten at Armstrong (HPISD) very well prepared and has been/is in the TAG program, currently in 3rd grade. It's not flashy, but so substantive.
