Long Grove's apple fest. I think it's in September, maybe October. We try to go every year. There are some fun things for the kids and all kinds of apple goodies... apple pies, caramel apples and apple martinis!
What are your favorite Fall events? I am interested in local events, such as Farmers Markets and Fests. Most of them are ending now, so I'm wondering what some of your favorite Fall events might be. These may even be school events that happen every year. Please share your infinite wisdom with me. Thanks in advance!!!
You are all very resourceful. I am so glad I asked. I see lots of listings in the Parent Magazine and such, but your ideas were off the "beat and path" which is nice. Thank you all very much. I'm looking forward to Fall, but enjoying the beautiful weather we have now.

We absolutely love Bengston's Pumpkin Farm in Homer Glen. It's an awesome place. It's become an annual tradition for us, and the kids look forward to it every year.
Not sure what your religion is, but in the winter we like to visit Tammen Treeberry Farm in Wilmington. You can cut your own tree down, while sipping on some delicious hot chocolate. Fun for the entire family, including the dogs! And, the x-mas trees are perfection. Their websites are:

There is a great family owned and run apple orchard in Lockport/unincorporated Joliet called Apples on Oak. It is not at all commercialized, they have heirloom and unusual varieties. It is only open Wednesday and Saturday and Sunday. No entrance fee, kinda rugged, 2 friendly dogs that eat apples will walk along with you.
We went out to a pumpkin patch/apple farm that is near Dekalb- it was so awesome! They had a corn maze too! Truly it was a great family day out. Enough activity that even though it was packed the place didn't feel packed!

Look into Cantgny in Wheaton. That was the old McCormick property that is now funded by the McCormick Foundation.
I highly recommend the Morton Arboretum. It has really changed in the past 5 years. Beautiful Childrens garden, a maze, and activities for children. I'd checkout both of their websites. You'll see the special events for each location.
We love Sonny Acres in Wheaton. My husband and I have both been going there since we were kids. They don't really have much going on until October though
Dollinger Farm in Channahon has a really nice Fall Festival for the kids around Halloween .

This information was provided to me by Miles of Marketing (www.milesofmarketing.com). Just thought I would share this with everyone since it's so exciting! I know my kids are obsessed with Yo Gabba Gabba and will flip out when they find out we are going! The show is very interactive, and joining the characters on stage will be hip-hop legend Biz Markie to teach the kids how to beat box with "Biz's Beat of the Day." So much FUN!!!!
Hope everyone gets great seats!!!!
Nature Yoga Sanctuary is offering a sort of "back to school" Mommy and Baby Yoga class this fall. It's on Mondays from 10-11:15am starting Sept 13th and going for 6 weeks- AND it's only $80. So, if you're in the neighborhood and haven't had a chance to take a class because of your new little one, it's a great opportunity because you can actually be with your babe and take yoga. sweet deal.
