Try the community colleges like DCCC or TCC continuing education. Some of the classes you can even take online.
Does anyone know where I can do an hands on Excel and Powerpoint class. I have had the hardest time trying to find a local class that I can work on a computer to learn. I am not a good visual learner.
Thanks in advance!

Call Fred Pryor Seminars at 1.800.556.2998. The have classes in Dallas and Fort Worth.
Hi C.:
You might want to check out the Continuing Education Program at UT Arlington. They offer the full Microsoft suite of courses. You can even earn a certificate by taking all of their courses for Microsoft if you want to.
Their number is 817/272-2581 or check on line at the UTA web site www.uta.edu/ced. I took their courses years ago when I was laid off from Lockheed Martin; before coming to work at UTA!!
Warm Regards,
A lady that I work with at the hospital does the training on the side. I can give you her number if you would like and I can ask her how much she charges.
GRACE, the relief organization in Grapevine, offers classes for the community. The class prices are very reasonable.
I've seen some listed in the Community College classes for adults, children, and seniors. Mountain View College sends us a booklet with different classes every semester. I'm sure the other CC's will have similar classes.
Please feel free to contact TCC-Tarrant County College (Fort Worth or Arlington) Campus...they offer these type of classes all the time.
God Bless!

Do you have a CompUSA near you? They have hands on classes. When I took a PowerPoint class a couple of years ago, it was $99.
Hi there this is L. S.
I have taken the short classes at UTArlington and they have been very helpful. Not too long but enough hands on work with the computer labs.
Have you looked at the community colleges? I know the Dallas County community colleges offer a lot of computer classes at pretty reasonable costs. Good luck!
Where do you live. What side of town are you on. Check with local library they usually have a list or offer it them selves for free.
The Christian Womens Job Corp gives these classes for free. You have to call and talk to Patricia Meeks. The place is located at Fielder and 303 in Arlington. I'm not sure what the number is. They have a class starting in a couple of weeks. They have a computer lab that you can use after graduation on Tuesdays and Thursdays if you need extra practice.
