Looking for Best Formula Option

Hi Moms!
I just weaned my 9 month old to formula. I started with Similac because I had so many free samples. It seemed to be fine. When I ran out, I switched to the Walmart Brand (Parent's Choice). This formula seems to be more like Enfamil and it is causing him difficulty with bowl movements (very large and formed, causing anal fissures). I ran out the other day, and still had a sample of Similac soy, so I gave him that until I could get to the store. His BM's have been so much better and are no longer painful for him, so I want to try a new formula. (I don't want to keep him on soy). Anyways, I'm looking for the best, generic brand formula that doesn't cause bowel problems. I shop a lot at Walmart and Target, and I also have a membership to Sam's club. Any suggestions? I'm avoiding buying Similac simply because of the cost, but if it is the only one that works for him, I'll just have to cut back somewhere else to afford it!

What can I do next?

Choose one and stick with i,t if you can. Constantly switching formulas, especially the type of formula, can't be good for the digestive system either. All formulas are regulated by the FDA, so they all have the same types of main ingredients. Just the fillers are different.

I think Target has a generic that says "compare to Similac" on the side of the can.

We used the Target brand with my son and never had any problems whatsoever, and it was cheap. We paid 12 bucks for a can of it. And his pediatrician also recommended it as well.

Does he need soy formula, or was he on it because it was the samples you had? If he doesn't need it, you can buy a large (larger than you could at the grocery store or walmart) at sams for about $21. This is a very good deal and it usually lasts about 2weeks.(I have a 9m old also) also if you got to similacs website you can join and they will send you coupons up to $5. So, $16 for 2 weeks of formula is a good deal
