I have a rabbit, two cats, and an outdoor dog. I am looking for someone to check in on them and feed them a few times during the week while I'm on vacation over Christmas. Our neighbors will do it the rest of the time. I do not want to board them. I have contacted a few services, but they want to come every single day, at $30.00 plus a day. I'll be gone over two weeks, so that will really add up!!!! Has anyone used a service, or individual that is flexible with the schedule?

I don't know what area you are in, but I have a friend who has worked for a pet sitting service in the past, but has recently attained other work. She is such a sweet and responsible person that I would hire her if she was close to look after my animals (she adores pets and owns 2 dogs). I am sure she could provide references for you to look into if you are interested and live somewhere around the area (her home is near the old Carswell Air Force base in Ft. Worth... I think the area is called westworth village). I know that her and her husband live very humbly and could benefit from some holiday money.
On the flip side, if you live near Grand Prairie not to far... my sister in law is out of work until January and could use some cash( she also comes with excellent references and is a 4 cat owner- she is my personal pet sitter when we go away)

Yes I know what you mean I have looked into that before and they charge so much, we couldn't afford it either.
We also have 2 rabbits, the cats, and 1 outside dog.
Some people know how to take care of cats and dogs but not rabbits. We have Mini lops and they have a litter box.
What days are you needing care for ?
We are going to be gone a few days but not the week of Christmas, so if we aren't gone at the sametime, then my husband could come either his days off or on his way home from work.
Have you tried contacting your vet's office? When I worked at a vet's, quite a few of us did pet sitting at reasonable prices.
