Looking for Affordable Video to DVD Transfer

Try U-Edit Video on Round Grove Road in Lewisville. I don't have the phone number, but they were very helpful when I used their services.

I had great luck with Accent Photography on Park Row in Arlington. They charged me a total of $27.00 to turn a VHS and a Beta tape into DVDs.

With a "firewire" you may be able to connect your video player to your computer and do it yourself. I'm told it's fairly simple, but I haven't done it personally. The firewire should cost less than $40.00 and then once you master the technique, you can make DVDs to your heart's content!

I actually do that as a side business. I can do a very basic transfer from VHS to DVD for as little as $10 per hour of video.

$20.00 vhs to dvd at any walgreens. i work there in the photo dept and thats all it cost for up to 2hrs. If you look in our ads weekly we have coupons for free dvds etc. we may not have another coupon for a while b/c we just had one. but walgreens is pretty cheap and it takes about two weeks and they give you options on music and themes. i did one for my wedding and in turned out great. good luck.
p.s. the place we go through is called "yes video". you may be able to look it up online.

Walgreens regularly has coupons in their weekend flyer. I think there is one that ends today for $20 for the first DVD and $5 for an extra copy.

i bought a sony at best buy for my husband at christman it was around 250.00 or so but had alot of videos to transfer and it is just a click of a button to get it started and also works either as a vhs player or a cd player well worth the investment

I know you can purchase software to do this but I am not very technically savy, I found a place close to me at Forest and Marsh that transferred 9 tapes for 8 dollars each. I think the name of it is Aminni??? If you are interested I will get the number for you the next time I drive by.

B., look on ebay for a Sony Direct device. It hooks to your VHS unit and you can create DVDs from your VHS tape with the press of a button. It might run $100 or so but if you have lots of old VHS movies, it is a cheaper alternative. You can also buy one new but I think lots of people buy one, use it for what they need and then resell it on ebay to recover some of their investment.

If you goto http://www.gotmemories.com , they've got a sale on right now, $4.99 a tape, any format tape to DVD, did a great job, got a shop based in Tempe, AZ but they are mail order also. $4.99 is the best deal in the country I could find.

There is a place over by Vista Ridge Mall it's called "U edit video". Not sure how much they charge for this, but to make a copy of dvd to dvd they only charged me $10.00. They are next to Calloway's Nursery on fm3040.

I am in Keller and I actually do this kind of work. I have my own business, Meg-A Memory, and that is exactly what I do. I can transfer old 8MM film reels, VCR tapes, and 8MM camcorder tapes to DVD. If you will call me we can discuss cost -- I definitely don't charge as much as they do.

One thing to be aware of, a lot of these places will send your tapes out to someone else to do. I sure wouldn't risk that -- what if they got lost in transit?

U Edit has a location in Las Colinas, they are about as reasonable as Wolf's. Considering the number of hours you have - it won't be cheap.
