We love Volente Beach - its small, has waterslides and areas designed for different age groups. They also run a summer camp for kiddos.
This list was sent to me from my daughters teacher - enjoy!
• 1. Get an arm workout by kayaking at Lady Bird Lake. Wear sunscreen!
• 2. Bring your family to for “hands on” shows at Austin Children’s Museum during Community Night. It’s every Wednesday at 8 pm… its only $1!
• 3. When it cools off at sundown, head to Congress Avenue Bridge to see colony of over 1 million bats take flight!
• 4. Skip cartoons. Stretch out on Saturday mornings with Family Yoga for Kids at Ruta Maya.
• 5. Cool off at a favorite natural swimming hole: Barton Springs, Deep Eddy Pool, Hamilton Pool.
• 6. Pack a healthy picnic and see a free production of “Beauty and the Beast” at Zilker Hillside Theater, weekend nights in July and August.
• 7. Check out the Republic of Texas Biker Rally June 12-15. Take a bike ride of your own!
• 8. Take a hike AND cool off… explore Inner Space Cavern where it is always 72 degrees.
• 9. Get some ideas for fresh fruit and veggie snacks. Visit Boggy Creek Farm
• 10. Hike a trail at the Barton Creek Greenbelt. Take a dip in one of the natural pools.
• 11. Have a hula-hoop contest with your friends.
• 12. Visit Mayfield Park. Spot peacocks wandering 22 acres of woodlands, gardens and ponds.
• 13. Windy Day? Fly a kite in your backyard or at a near-by park.
• 14. Take and archeological dig at the Dino Pit, a free, outdoor paleontology exhibit at the Austin Nature and Science Center.
• 15. Grab chalk and challenge your friends – who can make the most difficult hopscotch path?
• 16. Make your own trail mix using whole grain cereal, dried fruit and nuts.
• 17. There are no bad seats at Deep Eddy Pool during Splash Party Movie Nights. Saturday nights this summer, watch a movie while you float in the pool!
• 18. Pour your favorite juice in a paper cup, stick a popsicle stick in it. Place it in the freezer – who needs “the ice cream man” for a cold treat?
• 19. Time yourself running at a local track. Can you get faster by the end of the summer?
• 20. Go back in time when you visit Pioneer Farm in historic Walnut Creek. Take a hay ride, shear a sheep, and find out what it was like to live in Texas during the 1800’s!
• 21. Try the high dive at your local pool.
• 22. Take a trip to Gruene, TX. Float down the river. Spend the night dancing at Gruene Hall!
• 23. Check out the Republic of Texas Biker Rally June 12-15. Take a bike ride of your own!
• 24. Raining? Meet at a friend’s house and make up a dance routine to your favorite song.
• 25. Get away from it all. Take a peaceful walk through the Umlauf Sculpture Gardens.
• 26. With a parent’s help, make a summer smoothie by blending yogurt, fruit and ice.
• .2 Have a treat at the Austin Ice Cream Festival on Aug. 16. Take a long walk around Waterloo Park first!
I live South, but I know Round Rock has a fun small water park... I went there 2 summers ago.
If you live in Cedar Park, Brushy Creek Lake Park is not too far from you. It's free and it has playscape, pavillion, and a water fountain area where kids can run in and out of. You want to stay cool if you are outside.

Radijazz is a great indoor fun for kids. It can get little crowded in the summer with the school being out but if your kid are 6 and under and have lots of energy, it's a great place to go.

There is also Lakeline Mall with Inflatable Wonderland. I think it's $5 all day Tuesdays and Thursdays.

I would also recommend free movies. My kids are too young so I have not been to one but I hear they are great from my friends who have gone. You do need to be there early because the seats can fill up fast.
It's a bit of a drive from N. Austin but the Children's Museum is geat for all ages.

I'm not sure exactly what age your kids are so some of my suggestions may not be appropriate.
Go check out some websites like:

Hope you find some fun things for your kids this summer!
My daughter goes to Z clubhouse off Research and McNeil. THis is her 1st year at this camp and she loves it....Last week they went swimming, ice cream in the park, and Splashtown. THis week they are going to Gattiland, a movies and swimming 2 days. THe cost is $130 a week and a registration cost that covers all field trips....
I think they have $30 a day drop in....
You should check it out....
Try the free movies at Lakeline Cinema! They're a god send!!! Also- the Cedar Park Library is really good - I'm sure they have some brilliant summer programmes for kids. I find between the library (we live nearer the Lake Travis one) and the free movies it really helps to fill up our summer! have fun!
My church, Unity Church of the Hills on Anderson Mill has several great camps for kids that start this week. There is a photography camp, babysitters training camp, kid cuisine camp and more. Check them out. You don't have to be a member or attend the church to participate. http://store.unityhills.org/SearchResults.asp?Cat=33

Good luck!
