You could start on etsy and save enough money to build an e-commerce website. If you want to start out of the gate with your own website, I highly recommend going here http://thedesignparlor.net/
They designed a site for my friend and it turned out awesome. She said they were wonderful to work with, and affordable.
Like an online store site of your own?
Webs.com has an April special right now and uses easy site editors to set up pages, etc. Our daycare group had a free one (they used to be freewebs.com and now just webs.com), and we just paid for one of them, but they make one especially for web stores. Ours should have been $180 for 2 years inclusing a domain name but the sale made it $135 for the 2 years. The web store one is a bit more.
Check it out! And good luck!
wixx, godaddy, freewebs, weebly, big cartel, ebay...
You can ONLY use etsy if the jewelry is handmade by you or if it's vintage, which means 20 years or older.
We built our website on yahoo and pay just less than $14 per month.
We are in the plastics industry and sell/broker/consult regarding raw materials for manufacturers. We do NOT rely on the website for sales, my hubby and word of mouth and repeat customers do that but it is a good functional site for someone looking to gain information, etc. We are both on Linked In as well.
We already passed the $1 Million mark in sales this year... expectations to hit about $4 million.
Other places to try are upscale boutiques, Etsy, Ebay, etc.
Good luck
godaddy.com. I got hosting, domain name, 6 email addresses, search engine optimization, online file folder, online calendar, advertising credits, etc, etc for around $140 for a year. They have a lot of different layouts and pictures to choose from and you can enter your own as well. You can visit my website
http://the-scrapbook-artist.com. On my home page, down towards the bottom on the right there is a ad for them that will save you 25% if you make a purchase by 4/30/2012. Also, etsy.com charges very little per listing but they will take some of your total sale price. Ebay is also a good place. Hope this helps! Good luck to you :)
