Looking for a Pediatric Dentist near Bridgeville, PA

We want to switch our sons over to a pediatric dentist. We're having some issues with my older son's teeth and after a bad experience (for both of us) the last time around at our family dentist, my DH and I have decided we need to make a change. I'd prefer to not have to drive a huge distance, but will give a bit for the best option for my sons.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you to all of you who offered your suggestions. We chose our ped. dentist and are pretty happy with our choice. After having our initial visit, I'm very happy we made our choice. Turns out my oldest son has a lot going on in his mouth that needs to be addressed. :(

Dr. Jim and Dr. Ada are a husband and wife team and they are wonderful. my daughter has had to have to dental procedures under the age of 2 where she has been put under and i wouldnt have trusted anyone else to do it. she has also had an incident where she fell and busted her teeth and they were pushed back, dr. jim came into the office at 11pm to meet us there to fix them. their number is ###-###-####. hope this helps.

I actually had to switch from a pediatric dentist to a family dentist. Dr. Hnat was actually my dentist as a child (he was very young then) and he is now my dentist again as well as my childrens'. He is located in McMurray. My kids love him, so much more than their pediatric dentist. Jim Goldsmith (Dentica) was their pediatric dentist and he was only interested in gassing kids to do the most basic work. Dr. Hnat is right on route 19 and his number is ###-###-####. He is very gentle and softspoken and his staff is great with the kids. My oldest is autistic and has had no problems with Dr. Hnat. My daughter who is afraid of everything (cannot take medicine without a fight) didn't even feel it when she got a novacaine shot to extract 3 teeth. I highly recommend him! Good luck in your search!

Hi Julie~

I take my kids (ages 6 & 8) to Pediatric Dentistry South. They have a couple of offices. One is in the Waterdam Plaza and the one we go to is Mclaughlin Road. We've seen Dr. Ruffalo and another dentist there and they were both wonderful with the kids. The hygienist are great too. You're in and out very quickly.

Hope this helps!

I can recommend two dentists who are not pediatric but have been wonderful with my kids (4 & 6 years): Dr. Wolkoff on Beverly Rd in Mt Lebanon & Dr. Stephen Fisher on Greentree Rd. Both have a nice manner with kids, as do their staff. My 6-y-o, hysteria-prone, had a cavity taken care of by Dr. W. with him just talking her through it and using his "tooth tickler". The pediatric dentist we'd seen first told me to take her to Children's to have a general anesthetic used.
