I am trying to plan my son's first birthday party and the theme is Tonka Trucks and I would like to find someone who could make a Tonka Truck cake. I live in the Royal Oak area.
Garrett's Cake Shop in Troy makes yummy cakes. I think they do child themed cakes.
I had them make cupcakes for my 2 yr old son and they werer a huge hit!

My friend down the street is an AMAZING cake maker! She made an incredible 'Monster Truck' for my son last year. She works part time as an engineer so she has a creative mind to do all sorts of stuff. If you are interested, I can pass her information on to you. I believe she has a portfolio she can email you. If you haven't already decided on someone, check out www.freewebs.com/jens3dcakecreations. She is extremely reasonable and can deliver. She does cakes on the side and does some adorable themed cakes--She has a ton of pics on her website so you can see for yourself. I found her thru craigslist and she did an anniversary cake for us--we got a ton on compliments on the taste and everything. I highly recommend her.
My husband's aunt lives in Royal Oak and used to work as a baker/cake maker.. now she just does it on the side. She makes WONDERFUL creative cakes and is very reasonably priced. I can check with her if you're interested.. just PM me if you want me to check.
