Looking for a Agent for My 7 Year Old

Hello Moms,

My 7year old daughter would like to do commercials. I told her that I will look into getting her an agent but I have no idea where to begin. This has been a year long discussion with her. She is always reminding me. One thing for sure is never put out any money... unless headshots are needed. Can anyone help me with this great problem. I would love to give her a shot at this.

Thanks in advance for reading my post and helping us out!

Nancy

My daughter was with Starworks for a while and booked some jobs. Give them a call ###-###-#### or ###-###-#### - Tina and Paula run it - tell them L. Ryan, Makenzie Ryan's mom referred you and that you'd like to set up an interview.

Hi,
My friend has a small boutique agency and said she would happily look at your girls pictures. You can email her at ____@____.com start, just send snapshots and stats on height and weight.

My personal advice for that age, is do not spend any money other than for pictures from a photograher of your choosing. I wouldn't invest in classes yet. It can ruin your child's natural instincts. They don't want slick Hollywood kids.

Well speaking from experience, my older son has done background for movies and tv shows. First, females have so much competition amongst themselves, so its harder to get a job. Second, no matter what you will have to pay money, either headshots, agents, and/or classes, which are expensive. There is a lot of money that you will need to put up for your daughter to even be considered for a commercial, unless you know someone in the industry already. I hope this helps, I am not trying to discourage you or your daughter, but just letting you know how this whole thing works. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me. C.

Hi Nancy,
Don't get headshots until after you have an agent for her. A good snapshot that really shows her face and personality is what you need to submit to agents at this young age. There are agent books at Samuel French bookstore (Hollywood and Studio City location). Go through the books and look for agents who rep kids. I recommend an agent who specialized in kids. My daughter is with Colleen Cler. I'm happy to give you more suggestions and an idea of what to expect once she starts going out on auditions. Feel free to email me.
Good luck!
