Longing to Stay Home Again

Hi ladies,
I am going to send out a plea for strong, solid advice. I am a current working single mom. I got divorced last year after my younger brother was killed and was forced by the situation to return to work. I am a stay at home mom by heart. I love my children with all of my heart and know without that raising them is what i want to do. My children have had their whole worlds changed by the divorce and then by me leaving them to go to work(which they completely don't understand). Their daddy lives out of state and visits every few weekends for a day and a half, so I am pretty much raising them on my own. I have had to miss several days of work over the past 8 months for my kiddos being sick(they aren't used to being in a daycare or school environment so their immune systems don't quite understand it yet) and have been asked to chose between my children and my job. There is no choice there for me....I know what I want. My divorce left me with a sizeable amount of debt to pay back and am looking for advice from other moms on jobs that I could do at home with my son while my daughter is at school and still make the money to pay off my debt(since that is the only reason i am working in the first place) I am gracious for thoughts on selling arbonne, mary kay, mona vie or having a child in my home to substitute the income, but that is not what i am looking for. I have 8 yrs of banking management experience and very strong and quick typing skills...am just looking for something that would allow me to set my own hours so that even if i worked outside of the home i could take time off with my kiddos when sick and have a flexible schedule to spend more than 2 hours a night with them. Please, please, please let me know if you know or can think of anything as i am wanting to be with my children as much as possible especially through these critical years. Thank you so very much

What can I do next?

C.,
I understand you are not necessarily looking for a product to share with others. But that might be your alternative to help bring you home to your children. I am a consultant for Arbonne. Here is a recorded call that you can listen to...it's less than 25 minutes and with a lady who was a Physician's Assistant before Arbonne. The number is ###-###-####. Her situation was different than yours but she did work many hours with small children while building her business. If it peaks your interest to learn more, please give me a call at ###-###-#### or shoot me an email at ____@____.com. There is no pressure but think it could be a viable alternative!
Many Blessings!

Although my situation is different, I am a teacher about to become a SAHM due to daycare & gas costs. I'm not sure you could replace your income overnight, but it could ease things up a bit & it is something you could do in addition to any job you choose. I market for a health and wellness company. Basically, by telling others about the store I shop with, I make money. I love the products because they are safer for my kids and better for the earth. PLUS they are cheaper than Wal-Mart, and I make LESS trips to the store! I work with a group of Moms who have been successful, and many have replaced their income. There is unlimited training an support while NO selling, NO inventory and NO cold calling. Even in addition to an admin. position, it could be well worth your time to look into. Visit my website to see what you think: www.best4mykiddos.com or email me: ____@____.com
I would love to talk to you!

Hi C., I work from home as a wine consultant, I get to pick my hours, stay home with my children, and homeschool. I go into homes and businesses and teach a little about wine, sample 6 different wines and pair them with cheeses and chocolates. There is a start up fee, but ne inventory, displays etc. It has been the best cost for return stay at home job I've seen in a long time. If you are interested visit my website www.TasteYourWineAtHome.com and then give me a call and we can set up an interview.

You can try www.teamdoubleclick.com. It's a virtual office assistant job at home. You can go to their website and find out all of the info you need. I do know that there is no cost up front, just some simple tests and they will place you with a client or clients. Hope this helps and good luck!

One thing you might look into would be to try to start your own online business. If you have a product that you're interested in that you could get from a wholesaler and sell on eBay or Yahoo Shopping. I did that with furniture for about 4 years. Ultimately it wasn't the answer as the "big guys" ended up taking over the internet for furniture and I couldn't compete. But I have seen some successful businesses online by finding the right product.

The other thing you could do would be to sell on consignment on eBay.

I'm looking for answers myself right now but haven't found the right fit yet. I'm not looking for anything where I have to get others to join a business in order to make money. I have tried so many of those and they are successful for many (my brother in law is an Emerald in USANA and is able to be home) but they don't seem to work for me.

It's so hard to be working when you'd rather be at home. I'm married but because of our business problems we had to file bankruptcy and sell our home and move back to the city from our lovely quiet country home.

I'm thankful I was able to get back with the corporate job I had making good money, but I'd still rather be home with my kids. Maybe we can stay in touch and help each other with ideas and encourage each other. :)

Chris
