Leaving your child is never easy. I have 2 children and have always put them in an in-home daycare, so it feels more like a family to me and so that they can be cuddled and cradled a little bit more. We moved to De Pere in June and found an AMAZING in home daycare that does daycare 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! I've never found that before. They are so great about times that I'm running late and I don't get charged extra. Plus, it's a family atmosphere and they are very good at doing specific things for your child. One kid that has gone there since 6 weeks, is still on organic food and a very strict diet and they are willing to do that. The child is now 14 months. Another child, the mother used to always rock the baby to sleep, so they do that for the child. They really try to mirror as much as the home preferences as possible. If you're interested, let me know and I'll get you her name and number. I just don't want to publish it out here!

Good luck! It does get easier!

I think flopping your son from one sitter to the next would be very difficult. I would try and find ONE sitter, stay at home home, nanny etc. I would find someone that is willing to work on your schedule days, nights, and won't have a problem with a changing schedule. I know I was going to work for a family and the husband was "on call" like 8 days a month and I was willing to be a "on call" sitter you could say. It didn't work out because of my daughter's kindergarten schedule but I was willing to do it so I'm sure there are others out there that would be willing to do something like that.

I know how you feel, finding daycare and someone you trust is a very hard thing to do especially the first time. I am a stay at home mom of 2 kids. I sometimes take them to daycare though if I just need a day to do things without them. I was a nanny for 7 years until the boys I took care of reached school age and I guess my best recommendation to you because of you changing shifts would be to possibly look into having a nanny or stay at home mom care for your little boy. I know its a hard thing to do leaving your child for the first time. If you need any advice or anything you can email me if you want at ____@____.com and I will help how I can.

Hi,
If you were looking for a more permanent provider I would love to help!
I opened my in-home daycare before my son was born because I didn't want him spending the day at daycare eventhough I was there- so I know what it's like making such a tough decision.
I live in Hartland very close to the Delafield (83) exit on 94 or right off Hwy 16.
I am a married homeowner with a sociable one-year-old son. We would love to have another playmate! We spend the day with a 2yr old and 5yr old when he's not in school.
I am open to your flexible schedule- even the nights!
My husband works at the highschool in sussex so is very close to Quad!
I am a certified preschool teacher (EC1,2 and infant/toddler training) with first aid and CPR certifications. I have many years experience working with children as a camp counselor, lifeguard, nanny, and preschool teacher. I can provide excellent references.
I charge $4-5 per hour per child.
Activities are tailored to your child's needs, likes, and ability. A typical day's activities include story time, sensory activities, large and small motor skill development, trips to the library, outdoor activities, etc.
If you are interested in talking, please email me.
I look forward to meeting you and your family!
Take care,
J.

This may not be what you want to hear, but I would suggest looking for a new job or negotiating a set schedule with your current employer. It's going to be very difficult to find someone that can accomodate your changing schedules not too mention the stress this may cause your son, children need structure and it sounds like your current employment situation will not lend well to that. I don't mean to be a "Debbie Downer"!

Good luck!

What shift does your husband work? I can recomend you to a great daycare in Beave Dam. They are open 6a-12a, wouldn't cover your 7p-7a shift but they are all awsome!! Having family watch your child isn't always as great as it sounds. Consistancy is the best way for children even at a young age. If you want more info on the daycare send me a message and I'd be happy to help you out.

Hey! Have you ever considered working from home? I had to go back to my full time job after my son Hank was born (he's now 15 months) - it was hard dropping him off at daycare every day for 10 hours! After a year of that, someone introduced me to Stayin' Home and Lovin' It - a home based referral business. No stocking, selling or delivering. I am now working from home and making as much as I was at my FT job (minus daycare/gas expenses of course)! Here's my website if you are interested!
