Hi moms my two year old little boy opened my dryer and put an orange crayon in it. I of course didn't notice this until the load of clothes were already done. Do any of you have any ideas on how to get this out? Thank you for all of your help.

What can I do next?

Crayon in drier-

I used Dawn Power Dissolver in the dryer to get my black crayon swirl marks and sprayed some on a damp towel. No scrubbing at all! I tried the magic eraser and that didn't work for me and I didn't want the residue of soft scrub in my dryer so I tried this since I know how perfect it cleans my stove top. All I had to do was wipe it clean. It took all of about 15 minutes. Awesome!

Try a wet and squeezed out Mr. Clean eraser. It removes crayon from walls, maybe it will help! Good luck!

on the clothes ...get an old towel and lay it on the spots of melted crayon them take your iron and heat up over the towel..it should melt it on to the towel...same works for candle wax

I had this happen but with a red crayon. I did not notice it until I pulled out the DRIED laundry from the dryer. I immediately spot treated the clothes with crayon on them and rewashed. I then had to clean out the dryer of the melted crayon , which seemed to take forever but I did get it out of the dryer and our clothes. Thankfully, it was a washable crayon..LOL.

Good luck!

I used to use the Queen of Clean method of WD-40 and dishwashing liquid mentioned in an earlier post for greasy stains (never particularly crayon). However, I now use Shout Advanced Gel. It is in a royal blue bottle and is available at Wal-mart or Target. It works wonderfully! I have recommended it to many people and had lots of them mention back to me how much they love it. For the price of just over $3, I would try it on your crayon stains before doing all the work of the WD-40 and dishwashing liquid. I would air dry all clothes until you are sure all the stain is out. This product ca be sprayed on and left up to 7 days before washing. I usually let it set a couple of days on tough stains. Good luck!

We've been there too-- color of choice BLUE though lol :)
For the dryer cleaning:
"dry" old towels on HIGH heat in the dryer until it melts then wipe the crayon out with the old towels and pitch or use paper towels and wipe out when they are melted a little.
For the clothesjust keep washing them using stain remover in the spots... ZOUT or oxyclean....

My daughter once left crayons in her pocket and they went through the washer and then the dryer! We used the advice of The Queen of Clean (Linda Cobb). With the dryer turned off, spray a paper towel with WD-40. Wipe out the dryer until all of the crayon is removed. Wash out with warm water and dishwashing liquid, then dry a load of old wet rags. Depending on how much is in your dryer, this will take a while and a lot of sweat!

If you have crayon on your clothes, spray WD-40 on the spots, wait 10 minutes, then work in undiluted liquid dishwashing soap and launder as usual. We used Dawn dish soap.

You wouldn't think this would work, but we had 4 different colored crayons on probably 8 pairs of jeans and all of the crayon came out! I was surprised, but this does work.

Good luck!

Treating the spots with Goo Gone and then washing may help too. The Goo Gone may also help get any crayon residue from the dryer as well. Best of luck to you!
